    About "Anne Perry"

      • Anne Perry

Anne Perry Is a well-known author, some of his books are a fascination for readers like in the The Angel Court Affair: A Charlotte and Thomas Pitt Novel by Anne Perry (2016-03-22) book, this is one of the most wanted Anne Perry author readers around the world.

    2. A great fan of Anne Perry's books, I was somehow disapointed by this latest story of Thomas Pitt's adventures. I have found that the action was slack, the many philisophical considerations slighty boring and that the author was repeating herself too much. Nevertheless I took some pleasure in reading it, but less than I usually do.

    3. ***spoiler****I thought this mystery was well thought out and motivated for the most part. There are some parts I don't understand (why the ransom demand that Sophia's husband repudiate her religion and destroy her reputation?) Perhaps to throw Pitt off the scent in making him believe it was a religious motive rather than a financial one? to some how flush Castillo out? Although it was pretty clear who was probably behind the kidnapping from the beginning. The psychological aspects were interes [...]

    4. I have read all of Anne Perry's Pitt and Monk novels and enjoyed most of them greatly. This one falls flat. I actually told my husband I was bored halfway through. I did finish it, but there was no surprise twist at the end; just a rather bland last few sentences. Very unusual for a Perry novel. As others have mentioned, the characters we have known and loved for years seem muted and one dimensional. This novel is just not up to Anne Perry's remarkable story telling abilities. I will probably s [...]

    5. I usually loved my Anne Perry novels. However, lately I'd say her characters are not as deeply developed. The dialog is statement, restatement and on and on and onI'll not go into the plot as I've owned this book for months and I've delved and discarded any semblance to interest.I have absolutely *ALL* of her English police novels and have usually read straight through. I'm just not interested in this one and will probably take a long vacation from the Anne Perry novels.

    6. Not as interesting as previous books. I found it unbelievable that Jemima would become so emotionally involved in the religious issue--the Pitt family has never seemed to be particularly devout in the earlier books. The entire plot seemed rather weak and contrived. The time was not the Middle Ages, but was relatively modern, just a few years before World War I. Not Perry's best work.

    7. I have to admit that it took me a few goes to get involved in this novel. To me, this plot is a bit out of the ordinary for Charlotte and Thomas as he attempts to preserve the life of a religious figure who appears at odds with the Church of England, at least. It is interesting as both their children have a great deal more to say as the story develops. It also sees the newly weds Narraway and Vespesia taking a bit of a working honeymoon. Public schools of the 1890s get a jaundiced eye turned [...]
