    1. I absolutely loved the other series from Terry Brooks; A kingdom of Landover so I had to try that one.I have to say that I don't like it as much as I loved the other one but why not read it all (7 or 8 books I think) ?It's entertaining but more "dark" than Landover

    2. This review is specifically for the Kindle edition of this book, not about the story. For the story, this is the kind of writing and story telling that some people likeand some do not. I happen to like it, sometimes. It is what it is, and I don'thave much to say about it from that point of view.I am moved to write a review specifically because of the quality of the Kindle edition.Simply put, this is a poorly edited version of this book. It's not unreadable by any means, and it is far from the w [...]

    3. I thought this was the best of the first three books. Both of the first two books had serious slow spots for me, especially Stone of Tears.I really have to laugh at the self-important critics though, who lambast fiction, fantasy in particular, as "derivative"; as if a book can't be both derivative and good.or as if there has ever been a non-derivative piece of fiction.Look, the writing is not some literary masterpiece and a bunch of it probably should have ended up on the cutting room floor. B [...]

    4. The advantage of reading this book is that it provides the background, setting and experiences involved in the creation of the Sword of Shannara (which pays so prominently in many of the other books), where the name Shannara originates (especially since none of the other unlikely heroes of the pedigree share that name) and the underlying need for Shea Ohmsford's quest to finish off the Warlock Lord once and for all in Terry Brook's first great work. I enjoyed the character development in this b [...]

    5. I have read the reviews for this book and was expecting some disappointment. I am happy to say that didn't happen. For the person who was thrown because they had watched the TV Series I have a piece of advice. NEVER watch the series first. I bought both seasons and I have not even finished the 2nd disc of the first season because it is NOTHING like the books. I find the TV series boring and aggravating. I cannot imagine why that chose that actor to play Richard.Back to Blood of the Fold: These c [...]

    6. True to form Terry carries on a story better than most other writers the continuity of these books is amazing and he's always got you guessing about what's around the next page. This whole series is a delightful romp through world that we are very glad we will never have to be in.Since finishing these books I have started a few other books and series and have found them lacking when it comes to what Terry seems to find very easy to install in a book, loyalty to Terry and the sword of truth serie [...]
