    About "J.R.R. Tolkien"

      • J.R.R. Tolkien

J.R.R. Tolkien Is a well-known author, some of his books are a fascination for readers like in the The Lays of Beleriand book, this is one of the most wanted J.R.R. Tolkien author readers around the world.

    2. Collections of an author's work are often confusing, particularly when what the author has created is as complex as Tolkien's writings. Here's an overview of the twelve-volume History of Middle-earth, which was edited by his son Christopher Tolkien. Hopefully, it will help you select which book or books to buy.Keep something in mind. In the U.S. Houghton Mifflin publishes Tolkien's authorized works in hardback and trade paperback editions, while Ballantine Books publishes them as cheaper mass-m [...]

    4. J.R.R. TOLKIEN, CHRISTOPHER TOLKIEN, The History of Middle-Earth, Vol III, The Lays of Beleriand (pp. 150-329: The Lay of Leithian and pp.330-363: The Lay of Leithian recommenced )WARE:This review does not refer to the new “Beren and Lúthien ”published in the Spring of 2017, which does not use the whole text of the original version of the Lay.The story of the love of Lúthien and Beren is framed by a deep and subtle theoretical infrastructure, but - as it is appropriate for a fantasy story [...]

    5. Wow! The work Christopher Tolkien did to fulfill his father's legacy and make it comprehensible is HUGE! I now have the 3 works which gather all the background material for "The Silmarillion" and The Ring Trilogy (and The Hobbit). The Lay of Luthien is beautifully written, a real adventure story, and the language is not "precious" (sorry, Gollum!) This is a must-have addition to your Tolkien collection -- and get "Lost Tales 1 & 2", while you're at it!

    6. This is my favorite of the histories of Arda. The story is enchanting, the characters are strong and well thought out and as always, it is an exciting experience in Middle Earth that you wont forget. The poetry is beautiful. He tells a story with words that describes what he needs to say, while writing some of the best verse ever penned. I do believe Tolkien is the best poet that has ever been.
