    1. A number of reviews on this book are arguing back and forth not realizing that E-Commerce is rapidly growing and maturing on a week-by-week basis. Keep in mind this book was written in 1996! What impressed me was how accurate they were in some of their prophetic statements! This is an excellent overview text! Having been given this book as a must read by my corporation I have to say I expected more than this - the information is presented in a muddled and confused format - meaningless comparisons are made - for instance between HTML and PDF. The overall impression you get on reading this is that the authors have taken a few books on anything they can find internet related - and then attempted to summarise their introductions.     3. I really liked the way the authors describedthe management issues in electronic commerce. This book is definitely among the first that looks at the internals of electronic commerce from two perspectives: Customer-to-Business: online banking, retailing and publishing Intra-Business: supply chain management, customer asset management, manufacturing and logistics. Definitely recommend the book to anyone who wants to know about E-commerce.


    4. Many areas have books that were written in the early days when the landscape is unfolding. This is one such book. This book will appreciate in value as years go by as a concise snapshot of e-commerce and the Internet in 1995-96. Many new folks have rushed into e-commerce in the last two years who have no clue about the action that took place in the early years. This book provides that bearing. In some ways that is similar to Burn-Rate by Micheal Wolff.


    5. This is an excellent book, and noting the recent comments let's not forget that this book was written in 1996. At that time it shaped many of the newer ideas that have given us the "New Economy" today. Like the author's new book "e-Business," this book was THE defenitive guide in its heyday. I used it in a graduate level electronic commerce course in my school and still have it on my shelf--with a protective plastic cover on it! This is not a quick read but a long-term keeper.     6. Welcome to the real world of E-Commerce. A thorough explanation of how this area of IT is, and will be, looked at for business related concerns. It gets a little too much into the importance of intranets however the relevance is crucial for new business models. This book is on par with Mougayar's on Digital Markets, a must if you want to get into EC.

I found the book as one of the finest primers on E-commerce. The book explains concepts from fundamentals to advanced technology in a very lucid language.     8. The book is very wordy and goes into the history of the web to start. It is definitely not a manager's guide but a mismash of different subjects that drags on for over 400 pages. If you are slightly technical this is not the book. If you want the basics, I'm sure Motorolla Press has something less cumbersome and provides more value.
