    1. It seems almost silly to write a review of this book (and its companion) because I didn't read either of them in one go - I dipped into them as I carried out research. They are superbly readable and written by eminent historians in love with their subjects. If you are interested in Polish, Central and Eastern European History then these books are a must-read!
