the air raid sirens wail and bombs fall on their neighborhood Desperate to get away, they end up in the posh West End and find an empty house with the door open and food inside But it s not just food What a sweet little Christmas story I loved reading about Jack and Maggie and their longing to have a better Christmas than the daily grind of war rations and bombings When the worst happens, and they are left homeless on Christmas Eve, they take shelter in a home that has a door hanging open What sort of future might that door lead to Content Jack swears pretty frequently, but it s borderline profanity
