site, playing children or street vendors But each piece seems to have its own sound track that lures the reader further inside the city and those who are there Even when characters leave, the pull from their past assures that the city never truly deserts them And there is even below the surface of this book Subandthad subtly interweaves history and the coming curse blessing of modernity as it
