is my first Phillip Margolin novel Filled with twists, turns and intrigue, I was curious to how the subplots may or may not connect At times I had trouble keeping Robin s different cases, suspects, police and attorneys separate I had to stop to think who attached to what case.Detectives and DNA lab experts explained that only identical twins have the same DNA, although as a TV procedural veteran, I ve seen at least two episodes on CSI and LawOrder SVU where identical DNA was found in unrelated people when one had donated bone marrow to another I m easily distracted by details. The multiple payoffs in THE PERFECT ALIBI make this a must read mystery flag 5 likesLike see review Dec 17, 2018 Anne rated it liked it I ve always liked Margolin s books but I think since I ve read so in wealthy family, famous star on a big deal team local college athlete of rape There is DNA evidence, the athlete is convicted, and he swears he didn t do it, and threatens both his lawyer and his accuser as he s sent off to prison Then, there s another rape and hold on here the DNA in this case matches the DNA that convicted the athlete Since he was in prison at the time of the second rape, he gets a new lawyer, a new trial, and bail Right after that, his first lawyer who he blamed for his conviction in the first trial disappears and the first lawyer s law partner is murdered. There s another story going on, and Robin is busy both professionally and personally which I often don t like, when protagonist get involved with their co workers, but this time it works Margolin s many years It was able to hold my attention, as bits of the case gets revealed throughout the story, but in turn, it causes a ripple effect Other secrets get revealed, people get killed and my attention slowly popping up here and there Not bad, but it would have been better if the sole focus of the book was on one case rather than a bunch of cases which widens the cast of characters, which is a bit confusing overwhelming at times because it made the plot too busy and caused my focus to crumble I can t really say much about the book without revealing any spoilers since it is a mystery, but by Phillip Margolin In the second book featuring the protagonist, ex MMA fighter lawyer, Robin Lockwood who first appeared in The Third Victim by the same author , the central plot is hinged on the logic that a person cannot be in two places at the same time.Justice has to prove that a rapist, convicted based on his DNA found on the victim, committed another rape, again based on DNA, while being locked up in jail With several other impossible cases batted around, intertwined with Lockwood s personal life, this is quite a busy novel, which at times makes the reader lose the thread. The author, however, masterfully carves each piece of the puzzle to fit in nicely Review based on an advance reading copy provided by NetGalley, Macmillan Publishers and St Martin s Press flag Like see review Dec 4. I ve always liked Margolin s books but I think since I ve read so many thrillers lately, this one although satisfying was not as suspenseful as others It involves an interesting rape case and a competent attorney, Robin Lockwood Lots of characters and I got a little lost as to how they all connected until the end, but ultimately I enjoyed the story as well as the writing Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC

    5. The Perfect Alibi by author Phillip Margolin is a great mystery thriller The characters are well structured and the plot line is thick and greatly developed, pulling you in from the beginning and holding you until the end I would absolutely recommend this book to mystery lovers Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for an arc copy of The Perfect Alibi in exchange for an honest review.

I recvd this book from netgalley in exchange for my honest review I wanted to like this book than I did, mostly because the blurb intrigued me, a rich guy rapes a girl and ends up in jail, only to have his DNA show up in a rape while he s in there. sounded good, something that maybe could lead to me not predicting the outcome, what I got though, was this was actually a sort of mini case in a bunch of other cases A lawyer with several cases and a few of them overlap It was intriguing e I recvd t [...]

    7. I gravitated toward this book because the synopsis intrigued me I especially enjoyed the female characters in the storyline Most of the men, however, were not likable and about 55% of the way through the book there was just too much corruption to the story Many cases were being prosecuted and storylines interweaving which is usually fine when I read , but there seemed to be a lack of cohesiveness in the stories, and the middle of the book felt heavy and clunky The story started to pick up a I gr [...]
