about how to revive elderly foods, perk up leftovers, and use bits of produce that normally end up going down the garbage disposal I never realized that sad, wilty celery can be revived by cutting off the base and dunking the stalks in ice water for up to a day And who knew that crushing or pureeing garlic rather The Waste Wise Kitchen Companion is an alphabet of tips and tricks for everything from woody part of asparagus or a cabbage core This book was written by someone who lived through the 14 years of food rationing around World War 2, so there is not only some history behind the uses of this book, but first hand knowledge of these methods I love how the tips and tricks are able to not only save a meal, but can also help to cut down on the amount of food waste we are experiencing This
