that never happens , with a notebook to keep track of all the new words and names seriously needs a comprehensive glossary , I might have loved it For someone who has proudly read the Silmarillion you know who you are , I m embarrassed to say I didn t have the mental fortitude to keep up with Will s epic vision and for that I apologise This may be a problem for many readers though You, as the reader, will need to invest energy in reading this book It s not a light piece of throw away entertainment I read it sporadically while also reading another book and writing one also With all that going on, I struggled to keep up and was often confused as to where I was and, having forgotten names, which character I was with My concentration drifted If you have your geek dialled up to eleven and you want to dive into a fully realized multiverse Will is your man If you only have time to read sporadically or like to keep things light, this book may be a bit too big a mouthful to chew flag 2 changing it never stuck to the same one or two people It switched between multiple different people It was interesting to see the POV from different people, you got to see what was happening on a different planet or place But again I got a bit confused, too many names and places, it was hard to keep track of who was who This is to do with me being dyslexic, I struggle with names as it is The action and fighting were on point, very clear and well throughout There were multiple layers to the story, multiple bad people You don t really 100% know why one side is doing what they are doing It left you trying to thinking and figure it out Disclaimer I received a free copy from the Author Does not affect my review flag 1 likeLike see review Jul 24, 2018 Tuesday Cross rated it really liked it humanity.Overall Quality of the Story Line Four out of Five StarsLuska is very well written, Robinson has obviously poured many many hours of his life into crafting this piece, and it shows.Once I started to get my head around the terms, names, and general context of the universe, I found the different storylines engaging and interesting particularly as someone who drools over complex worlds.Ability to surprise hook interest the reader Two out of Five StarsThere are some surprises hidden in Luska , fun twists and turns, and promises that set us up for books to come.I am only awarding Luska two out of five stars because it is incredibly difficult to get into And I mean, really difficult You have to devote 100% of your attention to names, places, technologies, and piece it together yourself as you go.I m typically a big fan of this, but even for me, I found the barrier to entry quite high It s a great read, however, it struggles to hook the reader.Spelling and Grammar Five out of Five Stars Luska reads as if it has been professionally edited, if there were any spelling or grammatical errors in Robinson s text, I did not see them.Dialogue Quality Four out of Five StarsI found all of the characters to be quite unique while swapping viewpoints I enjoyed the distinct personalities and how they reacted to the unique world around them Oftentimes the dialogue is full of the world s jargon, which can make it difficult to follow at first but it does flow naturally.Overall Rating 3.5 out of Five StarsOverall, Luska is an incredibly ambitious space opera joy ride, chock full of much of what I love about sci fi novels You ll truly travel to other worlds through the pages, and become immersed in a rich, proudly built world.I would recommend this novel to anyone who has the time, energy, and interest, to devote to a serious space opera undertaking flag Like see review Calen rated it really liked it Jan 11, 2018 Jan 31, 2019 Will Robinson rated it it
