I m a southern gal, Mississippi born and raised My nose stuck in a book is where I spent most of my days Chillin out maxin , relaxin all cool oh wait, I m starting to rhyme with the Fresh Prince theme song Sorry Seriously though, I love books I was a voracious reader, starting way back with Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys I moved from mystery to paranormal to romance to romantic suspense My writing tastes have changed over the years until I ve now dabbled in a little bit of everything These days the focus is on paranormal romance Whether kicking ass or spouting sass, the heroines I write typify the strengths of women both overt and discovered I love me some alpha heroes, but I always seem to gravitate toward telling the women s story.I m shooting to be traditionally published someday In the meantime, I m juggling a full time job in university level research, and two part time teaching positions that take advantage of my Master s degree in clinical psychology While I m waiting for my ship to come in and for some agent or editor to decide I m awesome than Stephanie Meyer, I m working on building an audience for myself one blog post, one tweet, one read at a time So, thanks for stopping by and listening And in case that cupcake made you hungry, you can also find me over at my cooking blog, Pots and Plots where I regularly share my favorite recipes And FYI, I never remember to check my messages here.

    1. I read this for the Guy/Girl Next Door square for Romance Bingo and it was also a Kindle Freebie selection."I feel like sending a message out to every teenage girl everywhere who ever had a crush on her best friend's big brother---don't give up."There's a sweetness to this story that can't be denied. The hero enjoys hugs from his mom and never misses a chance to act the gentleman. The heroine's stubborn streak about not accepting help got run into the ground a bit but she's still likable. The fi [...]

    2. This story gets 4.8 out of five stars from me. I simply didn't want to put it down.I'll be honest and say I had a crush on Liam when I read the first book in this series. It was delightful to climb inside Riley's skin and fall totally in love with this handsome Marine. As I've come to expect from Ms. Nolan, the characters were well-drawn, relateable and had unique, witty voices. She is a master at getting us inside her characters' heads. I found the issues Riley and Liam faced much easier to rela [...]

    3. This book started fine but after they get together it's boring. The scene where they actually get together sucks and feels off. For some odd reason the constant references to essential oils got on my nerves. The first half of the book is full of drama and unfortunate events which makes things captivating, and the second half is just all too happy. Maybe that's why I lost interest. It's like the author wanted to tie everything up perfectly which was both unrealistic and uninteresting. Meh. I skip [...]

    4. Another great story by Kait Nolan! Liam Montgomery came back to Wishful, Mississippi after his dad died, to help his Mom. Riley Gower runs the local pharmacy. They have known each over since they were kids. Riley has had a crush on Liam since forever. Can they work it out? Of course they do, but there are some hurdles, Riley doesn't like to accept help, from anyone, and we all know, Wishful is full of helpful people, especially hot Liam. This is a great story, kept my interest from start to fini [...]

    5. I love a small town southern romance! Makes me think of my own happy ever after. I always love reading about a small town southern romance! Makes me think of my very own happy ever after.

    6. This story is the first I've ever read by Kait Nolan, and I am happy to say it won't be my last. I loved the small Southern town setting where everyone knows everyone and treats you like family. I'm also a sucker for friends-to-lovers stories, but I usually have a few criteria: 1) the protagonist MUST be a kickass woman that doesn't need saving, 2) the story MUST be wholeheartedly character-driven, and 3) there MUST be history between the characters (good and bad) woven throughout and just subtl [...]

    7. Riley Gower has been best friends with Liam Montgomery's sister since they were children. Liam is out of the marines now since his father passed away. He has come home to make sure his mother is taken care of even though she does a good job on her own. Riley has been in love with Liam since she was 15 years old. He used to be her protector and she was mad at him when he joined the marines without saying a word to her. She was always afraid something would happen to him. Riley bout the town pharm [...]

    8. There are no words for how this book will make you feel! Playing with my own emotions since I am like Riley and try to pack most of everything on myself instead of being worried about others. This book makes me stop and notice how much I actually need my S.O! It is by far one of the best reads! The only thing I don't like about this series is it's swaps focus to others in the next book and also the first two books ( i did not read those book) , you would not have to read books one and two in thi [...]

    9. Y'ALL. I adore this series. Maybe it's because I'm a Mississippi girl but I can't get enough! Classic best friend's older brother unrequited love story, though the best friend was totally absent (which made NO sense to me- sure she lives in NOLA but she could've been a phone best friend!). I read book 1 in this series also and was surprised to see the main characters from that book do not majorly overlap here. I think we saw Cam once. Not your typical model, and I can't say that I loved that (de [...]

    10. OkThis was sappy, and boring in parts, and had some typos But it also had some sweet moments. Premarital sex is not a part of my happily ever after, so seeing others do it (even fictional characters) makes me a bit sad. But; because it is something I will never experience, I have started reading these romances in hopes to better understand those with different life choices and experiencs than I have had. The plot was fine. I did find that I could connect to the main POV in some parts, but wasn't [...]

    11. Small Town Living in a Big Hearted Story No one is a stranger in a small town and in a small southern town it's a given that everyone will "Know Me Well" whether you like it or not. Kait Nolan has crafted a heartwarming love story that should appeal to any romantic soul. I read it in one sitting - got nothing else done all day, housework and cooking be damned! The main characters are fully developed with their flaws and foibles out there for all to see. A truly believable tale that tugs at the h [...]

    12. Nice, a little s!owThis was a nice story, but seemed a little slow. The heroine, Riley, had grown up taking care of her mother, emotionally as well as financially, and had a hangup that needing help or letting anyone take help or take care of her made her weak; while the hero, Liam, wanted to be someone she could lean on when she needed it. There were issues between them years before that are hinted at, but the reader isn't privy too until well into the book. There's some angst, a little ho me t [...]

    13. I liked this book! I didn’t relate as much as I normally do to the protagonist, but I still really enjoyed her tale. I thought the chemistry between the main characters was great, and they were both mature adults instead of the usual idiots who can’t communicate that I’m used to seeing in rom coms lately. :) I really liked the backstory / history they had, and the supporting characters rounded out the story giving it more depth. I also liked meeting some new Wishful characters for the firs [...]

    14. I liked the balance in this book between the romance plot and the town-related plot more than I did the earlier books in the series, since it finally felt like the romance was the point of the book. Liam was a charmer, since I have a thing for protective types, but I thought Riley's stubborn self-reliance was believable in her situation and made for a solid-but-overcome-able personality conflict between the lovers. Plus, it's a childhood crush romance, and that's always a winner for me when it's [...]

    15. Great story, dialogue keeps you involved like you are there listening to the conversation. Want to read more! The author keeps you engaged in the conversations of the players In the story, and develops all the characters. By the time you finish the story you automatically are intrigued to read on about the rest of the town and all the relationships that are teasing you, leaving you curious for more!

    16. Oh, What Fun!Delicious romance full of likable people who refuse to be daunted by the main heroine's insistence that she doesn't need anyone else's help. Events are totally credible, and setting is as familiar as one's own back yard. Occasionally there were expressions i was unfamiliar with, but most of them I eventually figured out. Is there a coffee called General Beck? BRAVO! And Thank You!

    17. This was an okay book. Typical romance, two people who grew up together reconnect and get together. Forced by the mans mother without him knowing. A good feel good book. A few sexy scenes so win. Was okay but probably wouldn't read again.

    18. Cute story, small town romance, fun secondary characters, part of a series. All things that register on my happy meter! You feel for and root for the main characters and at the end I knew I wanted to spend more time in Wishful with these people. That’s the sign of a winner in my book!

    19. I'm usually skeptical about the quality of Kindle freebies but this book was really, really good. The writing is phenomenal. The characters are well rounded and relatable. The dialogue is witty. The romance is paced well and realistic. Honestly, one of the better books I've read this year. Looking forward to reading more of this author.

    20. Love the town of WishfulI love the fact these a re stories of strong women who don't need a man an but are still soft enough to want a man. Riley is a good example of that. And I love that her mom is allowed to grow too.

    21. I really enjoyed it, probably the most from the whole series so far. I loved the characters and the story, which was a little different from the other ones. It was a funny, easy, fast read.

    22. Guess it is fairy tale ending but pretty good, realistic characters. Definitely fine stand alone but plenty of interesting characters around them. Solid 3 star

    23. Cute storyLoved reading this story, it was a sweet wholesome story. Quick read would definitely read the rest of the series.

    24. Kait Nolan knows Mississippi small towns! Real characters, real situations and maybe a wish or two. Her stories are worth ordering the next one in the series at 2 am.

    25. Love BloomsA sweet story about everyday people who struggle with life issues. A relationship is the last thing on their minds. Can love overcome?

    26. Romance and funReally good book as a romance, yet also depicts realities of owning a business. Southern aspects ring true and are fun.

    27. Entertaining Modern RomanceFluffy and entertaining romance for a quick read and diversion. Lightly written, but the plots hangs together. Cheerfully escapism reading.
