She has bravely penned down concepts and fa [...]

    5. I received a copy from the author, Anupama, in exchange for an honest review.Contrary to the heavy title of the novel, The Tantric curse is a light read about love and friendship injected with facts about tantra and tantric practices along with scientific reasoning. The story begins with a young girl Rhea, finding her ways into Shaktidham and she grows up in the ashram alongside Krishnam, the son of the head priest Satya and her love interest. The author has done an excellent job in developing th [...]

    6. A fabulous read ! The mysterious subject of Tantra presented in a novel and comprehendible way to put across the truths about Tantra . It is a captivating story with characters which seem very real and inspiring. The book is difficult to keep and contains everything from spirituality to sensuality. The name of the book could have been misleading but I am glad that I picked it up. The protagonist Rhea and her love Krishnam give a new meaning to the word love in the present times when the deeper un [...]

    8. I have time and again confessed my undying fascination towards mythology. Throw me anything myth, be it Hindu, Arab, Greek, Roman, Egyptian or Norse, I am in for all. But when it comes to real facts, the boundary of my knowledge is as limited as the number of rhinos in the world. That is why, when took the book The Tantric Course for review, I was little wary. What it would be like to read, what issues the book will deal and how much do I want to know about tantra. For the readers, who doesn’t [...]

    9. A smooth pleasant read with occasional feeds about the tantric world and the preconceived notions it usually drag along. This is the life story of a little girl, growing up in an ashram, somewhat secluded from outside world. She posses a natural trait to the tantric practices, and staying along the line of tantra makes takes her life through turns she wasn't prepared for. I might have overdid the intro there, but its actually a light read on friendship and love, with scientific information of ta [...]

    10. When I first picked up this book named "The Tantric Curse" and saw its cover page with those big scary eyes and then the word "tantric" designed in red font, I was quite skeptical if I would prefer reading this book but something urged me to give it a try. It took me 3 long weeks to complete this novel because of busy schedule but the power of each sentence, page and chapter of this book is so immense that even after I resumed it after 3 weeks just from where I left it last time, I was able to r [...]

    11. "The Tantric Curse" is an amazingly written book by Anupama Garg, that decodes a lot of myths prevailing our society. It deliver some exceptionally suited and well related logical explanations to the subject. Ah, don’t get scared, but the cover of this book seemed to have a hypnotising effect on me, and I was instantly drawn towards the two big eyes and the white silhouette of the girl. A good start one may say, signifying that the cover stands true to the theme of the story – Tantra.Interestingly, Anupama Garg, the author, has been trained under a renowned Tantric, Baba Batuk Nath ji, which adds an altogeth [...]

    17. Tantra is a field which is surrounded by intrigue and mysticism. Tantric rituals and practices are riddled with a lot of myths and pre-conceived notions. 18. Usually we choose a book to read; by reading its review or if it’s by our favorite author or maybe interesting blurb, there are “n” number of reasons why we choose a particular book. But what if a book chooses you? Never heard or experienced? I am not referring about receiving book as gift…I have been reading books since I can remember but I started reviewing them since past one and half year or so. 20. My rating is 3.5Tantra and Tantrics have always be subjected to judgement. Hearing the word Tantra, the face that will come to the minds of the readers would be that of fire, blood and sex. Anupama Garg throughout her book Tantric Curse tries to break the prejudice and show the world what Tantra and Tantric practice is really about. The book is the story of Rhea, who enters the Tantric world through destiny at the age of eight, when she lost her parents. Shaktidham, the Tantric abode of Satya an [...]

    21. We, human beings, have abused every power since time immemorable. Be it the power of fire, atom or Tantra, man has misused everything for its selfish motives and Tantra Vidya is no exception. Like any other form of energy, Tantra also has the power for both; creation and destruction. And it is us who have to decide how to use these for the betterment of the whole Universe. The Tantric Curse is a book which debunks many myths about Tantra that prevail in the society. Talk about Tantra or black mag [...]

    22. On reading the debut novel by Anupama Garg, at first it seemed like this was her own story fabricated into fiction, knowing her background as a disciple of a renowned Tantric. The book is not another religious lecture but a love story in the background of Tantra. Written in an elaborate way to describe the positive energies of Tantra, popularly considered as mystic dark magic, and its correlation with sciences, one gets to know the depth of spiritual knowledge through The Tantric Curse. That it [...]

    23. Like others I too had misconceptions about Tantra. After reading the tantric curse not only has my opinion changed but I can see life in a very different perspective. Anupama has been able to explain Tantra and life in very simple words. The book and interview reflect the author's uncomplicated thoughts. This is possible only when a person has apt knowledge of the subject. There are so many phrases in the book which I have personally turned into proverbs which I use while explaining things to peop [...]

    24. I have limited knowledge of religion and similar stuff like tantra. Even I believed tantra to be somewhat like black magic or sorcery kind of a thing. But the author has described tantra from a entirely different dimension which has completely changed my mindset towards tantra. Its a terrific read and I didn't feel like keeping it down till it was over. I am amazed and surprised by the author's vast knowledge on tantra. Thumbs up to you Ms. Garg!! I am keen to get some more thrilling reads from [...]

    25. Not sure why everyone rated it with 4 or 5 stars. Most poorly written and unnecessarily lengthy book I have ever read. I don't see much story, but a lot of things/scenes added which are not related to the plot, making the book appear patchy. The name Krishnam appears so many times, I am now sick of this name. Infact I am irritated typing it in the review. I've never thought, I would leave such a bad review to a book ever. But there's a first time for everything.I'm sorry if I'm too bold Anupama. Y [...]

    26. Review at The Tales PensieveI feel that The Tantric Curse is a decent novel. It is narrated in a simple language and keeps the pages turning, even though the pace wavers. I liked the character sketch of Rhea, and the detailing of her growing up. It has an interesting cover design, and I couldn’t see any editing mistakes that stood out. It is something that I might read again.

    27. Riveting story line!! Difficult to put the book down before completion. Powerful and inspiring characters. A unique approach to explain Tantra. A valuable book giving a great insight into the mysterious Tantra. Loved it, a must read!

    28. " The Tantric Curse" a tough and unknown subject very well explained and simply written. Strong characters ,passionate and deep relationship between the main characters.Awesome, original story and practical wisdom. Extremely gripping and enjoyed the book immensely.
