    About "Nag Mani"

      • Nag Mani

Nag Mani Is a well-known author, some of his books are a fascination for readers like in the The Green Room book, this is one of the most wanted Nag Mani author readers around the world.

    1. The story is well narrated. As the story flowed, I was overwhelmed by the unexpected more than a few times. The background of an old prestigious boarding school does the trick as it makes the storyline very realistic. A brilliant effort for this first time author and a perfect read for us this Halloween weekend.

    2. Nice book with awesome contentIt's a horror book .I choosed this as it is horror and thriller.Great book with scariness and effects

    3. Nostalgia usually comes in waves, today I am drowning. Every fiction contains elements of truth, inspirations, events, people, places and I am lucky to experience most of them in this book firsthand, so this book was more personal to me than an ordinary reader would identify. I fear my views of this book are biased and I often found myself reading between the lines. Its a whirlwind of nostalgia for any student of the 'Victoria School' :-) , Nag has maintained utmost fidelity in replicating some [...]

    4. A very interesting read! the story did slow down at some places, but overall, it touches you by the time it ends.I bought it after reading a comment on amazon that it is a bit similar to Harry Potter with a boarding school setup and all the night adventures- leaking question papers and dares. Though there is no dark lord in the story, it indeed, to an extent, took me into the familiar world. hope mr Mani comes out with another story soon!Definitely recommended.

    5. A paranormal thriller set in India! The beginning seems to give off the impression that there are more paranormal creatures than there actually are, which, when I think of it is disappointing. The first scene is full of eerie foreshadowing, where you just know that something big is about to happen and are eager to watch what it is.(view spoiler)[What or who ARE those things sitting on those trees, watching? That was the creepiest part, yet it's never revealed what they are.Afterward, its just one g [...]

    6. This is a decent read, and I thought that the book did have a couple of high points, notably at the beginning of the novel. 'The Green Room' is set in an Indian boarding school which is haunted by the spirit of a girl who has been long deceased. The plot circulates around a bunch of kids practicing for a big play that's to take place in Delhi, and Rohit, Ayush, Manav and gang all super pumped about it - especially Rohit because he gets to be near his long-time crush Chandni who is super hot and [...]

    7. I'm going to review this because I ploughed on till the last page. Mr. Mani has done a fine job for a debut, but not quite. The horror genre is first of all meant to be what it is called: Horror. This story has too many anti-climaxes and riddled with far too many logical reasons out of every situation which can put off a reader. The plot seems to progress nicely and then hit a wall and then go off-course. When finally the horror part kicks in, one might be too put-off to fully appreciate the spo [...]

    8. A good book. The cover is really spooky and well designed. The protagonists have been well portrayed and described. Beautifully written, making it worth reading.Language and narration is smooth and also keeps in track the required spookiness and thriller aspect. The book basically takes you into a world of fantasy and spookiness.Reminds me of my childhood days when I used to sit with my dad and used to listen to his horror stories, this book also gave me thrillers and I enjoyed reading it.There wer [...]

    9. Not scary still totally enjoyable.A teen story with a spooky twist. Except for few typos in the Kindle version, the story is beautifully written. The author takes you to the life of teenage students at "Queen Victoria School" in the beautiful city of Nainital. The classrooms, games, and plays described in the book are somewhat like as shown in the TV series Hip Hip Hurray, which may not be closer to reality in most of the Indian Schools. There is a good spooky element, the author successfully en [...]

    10. Well, simply put, this one flattered to deceive. Maybe it was the initial surprise at an actual creepy horror story in a somewhat novel environment for an Indian horror novel. But as you trudge along, despite the clichéd conversations and pedestrian prose, you find that what attracted to you in the first place, never seems to come up againMaybe I'm being too harsh here. But I think this book would work better for young adults than the older demographic. I found the depictions of boarding life t [...]

    11. Thrilling.a good and scary ghost story. The beginning to the first half is a bit lagging, the portion until second half accelerates, and I bet the last 20 percent of the novel you will read and finish without any break.Thrilling.a good and scary ghost story. The beginning to the first half is a bit lagging, the portion until second half accelerates, and I bet the last 20 percent of the novel you will read and finish without any break.

    12. Intriguing and interestingAs one goes through the book, it becomes more and more interesting. Will advice fellow readers not to leave the book after first few pages. As the book progresses it becomes worth a read.

    13. DNF @26%Firstly what I liked about this book is the cover. The prequel is also really good but unfortunately the rest of the story just wasn't interesting enough for me to keep reading and I'd gotten bored.

    14. Good storyVery nicely written. Author has shared his personal experience it seems. Straight from the personal diary of a person who belives in paranormal and fantasize it.

    15. A good read. i managed to finish the book in one go. Probably got myself involved with the characters and the spooky story line.

    16. I usually don't read horror or thrilling novel, but i choose to read this book .The cover & the blurb clearly shows that there is Ghost involve in the story . The story revolves around the Queen Victoria School, which is a boarding school, around one hundred 5o years old. There is one green room in which where the ghost lives. The story is interesting and it gives me Goosebumps. The story took your breathe away. The story starts with Ramesh, when he noticed that after several years she had re [...]

    17. I am not much into reading. I bought this book only because a friend persistently told me so. And I loved it!the story takes place in a boarding school in Nainital. Through small incidents that find their way in the main story-line, Nag grabs your imagination and makes you wish you were there too. Here is the plot in brief - a group of students are preparing for a play - The Wizard of Oz. Something fishy begins to happen and initially, everyone believes that some kids are onto some prank. But ev [...]

    18. Based on the book's blurb and the cover image I expected this to be a horror story. however, the author has tried to make it more realistic and it results in too many anti climaxes. Something spooky happens in the plot and you start getting interested. You really want to know what's going to happen next and then suddenly "oh it was actually a small kid" or something else. no direct confrontation or anything scary happening.I read uptil the 30% mark and encountered a load of teen hormones. The bo [...]

    19. The book is loaded with mystery and twists and turns right till the end. I really liked the first half of the book. The story did slow down in the middle, but the end made up for it.My verdict: A refreshing story for teenagers and students. Go for it!PS- Unlike some reviews, I did not find that the paranormal activities were just pranks by some kids. Yes, there is a spirit involved. The Prologue itself makes it quite clear. And it is definitely not just another love story.

    20. The author has taken heavy inspiration from Harry Potter and presented a very nice indianised version of it. The usage of many characters and locations seems to be inspired from J K Rowling but it does not affect the story. It is so perfect that it blends with the story. This book also triggers nostalgic moments that many of us may have experienced. On the whole, it is an excellent read!! Kudos to Nag Mani!!

    21. Would have liked it more if I was a teenager. It starts off promising. Really spooky and tense at times but never loses its ground. But towards the end, it falters. Clearly the author tried to rush towards the ending for which the ending is a totally clichéd. Not that there's anything wrong in it but I expected a little better after reading the first few pages.

    22. Nice gripping storyWith simple words, the author has taken us to the board school, where a soul is waiting for the justiceI liked the back drop of the school and how the students live there making a world apart from the outside world How they come up against the authority in unison to stop what is wrong

    23. This book emanates mystery. Loaded with the thrill of living in a boarding school, teenage crushes, forgotten stories and an apt depiction of the beauty of the mountains filled with silence and an eery presence, the book takes you through various happenings in and around the school using the eyes of Rohan, the protagonist. An interesting read, expecting more from the writer. :)

    24. A very good story with beautiful description of boarding school life. Only place I think it could have been better is when the antagonist secret was disclosed. It was at unexpected place, too early and in third person's narration. I prefer it to be in the end and discovered by protagonist in some way. Overall a very entertaining read.

    25. beautiful story! d language is simple. suspense builds up right fm d beginning,. d plot is refreshing n well executed.A must read!

    26. I must say, it was an interesting read. However characters were 2 dimensional. I actually couldn't care less about other characters.
