    1. after an entire week of doing nothing but unpacking and cleaning from bedbug nightmare '15 (yeah the recovery is STILL going on - where's FEMA when you need 'em?!), this isn't going to be the triumphant return to reviewing i had anticipated. i haven't read a book in a week, so i've pretty much forgotten what words are, and there are so many books in the review-backlog, it's too staggering to even address right now, so i'm just going to review one of those fun, silly books i read to escape from m [...]

    2. I read this book when I was stuck at Walmart for 2 hours in this tiny little town in the middle of Nova Scotia. It was one of the best times I've ever had at a Walmart. This book gives you a peak at the life of Mittens the Cat. You get to see him complain about his food, complain about his best friend, complain about the drunk who babysits him, and complain about many, many other things. And all of it is told through text messages between him and his owner. I have two pet cats, so I felt like I c [...]

    3. Don't have a cat but I always have been intrigued with what pets would say to us if they had the ability to. Great book for a laugh. Very quick to read but you'll enjoy every minute of it.

    4. What a crack-up! I can just imagine this cat and his owner having these discussions via text messages. Cats Rule!

    5. Each page in this book contains timed screenshots from the Furizon phone used by Mittens, a cat with serious keyboard skills. Mitty is conversing via text message with her owner, decrying the smell of her dog brother, the behavior of a not entirely sober human neighbor, the vagaries of Judge Judy, and the nature of a nice new Pinterest account. Some of the threads are laugh-out-loud funny. Others fit the imagined humor of cats and bathroom jokes of dogs. I could have wished the seasons followed [...]

    6. I enjoyed this book. It was amusing, and it was funny in places. It does not have an overall plot; rather, each texting exchange functions as mini-vignette. This collection, starring Mittens the cat, Phil the dog, and the patient woman who cares for them, started slow, but it seemed to pick up about half-way through, with just enough sentiment to make you care about the characters. Don't look for saccharine, overly-cute kitties here--Mittens is tough and sneaky, and he isn't afraid to tell it li [...]

    7. Mittens is CWA - Cat With Attitude! And with time on her paws, she is quite adept at texting AND making her wishes known. Her human tries to keep the upper hand, but alas, is not quite successful. Mittens and her friends are quite entertaining, and if she is a bit outspoken, well, who could blame her? She is just trying to straighten out the rest of the world!

    8. A drama llama cat gains the ability to text. It's pretty much what you'd expect. Cat demands treats, food, the removal of the dog, and so on. If you like cats, you'll like this.

    9. What a laugh! Really enjoyed the book and the children loved the book! Enjoyed by all and wished for more!I received this book for free through First Reads, for an honest review.

    10. I've been a Mittens fan for many years. Angie Bailey is creative and lots of fun regaling adventures of Mittens, Phil, and Drunk Patty. As a pet-parent of three cats and a dog, I swear Mittens is the embodiment of all three of my cats combined. (Especially Patrick, my Maine Coon, but we don't tell him that. heh.)

    11. Mittens the cat and his owner text back and forth, with Mittens complaining about Phil the dog and requiring (he is a cat, after all) more treats. You get exactly what the title says here. It's cute. I could have used a few more cat photos and a few less puns.

    12. It was interesting enough to keep me reading it, but I didn't really love it. Mittens was not cute (in picture or in words). He was nothing like Punkin, so I couldn't relate.

    13. Anyone who is owned by a cat will appreciate the humor. It makes you wonder what the cat is up to while you are away and what it would have to say if it had thumbs and a phone. LOL

    14. You had me at 3am texting "I see you".For every cat lover, mother of a fur baby, cat worshipping soulis book is for you.

    15. I am a major cat lover (I own two)! This book didn't have a strong story line of any sorts. It also didn't have a lot of jokes that really cracked me up. It was more boring than I thought it would be. It was a quick read though that filled some time.

    16. This book is so funny! My daughter couldn't stop reading it over and over again for months. And all together as a family we would laugh at the goofiness of cats.

    17. The world has been blessed with another kitty comedy from Angie Bailey. You might already know Mittens from Catster and his Facebook page. If so, you know he spends a LOT of time texting. Now you can get a whole book full of his conversations in "Texts From Mittens: A Cat Who Has an Unlimited Data Pland Isn't Afraid to Use It."If you don't know Mittens, this is a great intro. If you're the type of person who doesn't enjoy LOLCat humor, don't worry. Neither does Mittens. In fact in one of his tex [...]

    18. "Mittens" is a four year old male Tuxedo rescue. He lives with his mother - his adopted mother - and a dog called "Phil". There are a few other animals and humans in his life, but basically "Mittens" and his mom are a team. "Mittens" communicates with his mom by text, whether she is at home or away. And being "away" can be "at work" or "on a date", or out drinking with her friend, "Drunk Patty".Author Angie Bailey has put together the phone texts she imagines a smart, funny, at home cat might ha [...]

    19. This hilarious book takes the premise of what if a cat could talk even further to what if a cat had unlimited texting. This is a collection of texts between Mittens and his human mommy, capturing the eccentricities of cat behavior with the words behind them, like treats, demands for food, getting into trouble, boxes and toys, interactions with other pets and people, and more imaginative scenarios, like a cat's impression of 50 Shades of Grey and To Kill a Mockingbird and being adopted. The texts [...]

    20. I was a first reads giveaway winner for this book, so here is my honest review. As a cat lover, who has 2 of my own fur babies, i thoroughly enjoy the book. Most of the stuff Mittens (aka Mitty) says I could picture my cats saying, you know if they could talk. Mittens use of language also painted a really vivid picture of his personality. I especially enjoyed his use of "rapscallion," "geriatric ruffians," and the way he made fun on LOL cats. Overall a very enjoyable, quick read, that any cat ow [...]

    21. Mittens (aka Mitty) is a black-and-white Tuxedo cat with an unlimited data plan on his Fur-izon 3G phone. What does that amount to? Lots of tomfoolery! He texts his human, Angie, all day long about the drunken neighbor, Patty; his best friend, Stumpy; and his archnemesis, the dog, Phil. Amusing though it is that Mitty is a cat who uses such terms as 'troglodyte' in every day conversation, this is still a weak attempt at creating the next big Cat Star. Better leave the wit to Grumpy Cat, Mitty, a [...]

    22. Book #40 Read in 2015Texts from Mittens by Angie BaileyThis is a perfect gift book for cat lovers. Mittens is a cat with a cell phone and a data plan with no limit. He texts his human mother constantly about his needs for treats, the ability to watch Judge Judy and how he has his canine brother. Mittens is an online sensation and this book is a collection of some of his best texts. Cute read. I received a copy of this book from the Vine program in exchange for a honest reviewlissasbookpicks
