    1. Like I'd said before, I hadn't even read the blurb properly. Or looked at the number of pages the book had. I didn't know what to expect at all, except a phenomenal book, because when it came to SD I won't settle for anything but amaze balls. And I didn't have to. The book was phenomenal. It was small but it packed one heck of a punch. In the heart. And ovaries. WHY WAS THE BOOK SUCH A SHORT NOVELLA? GIMME MORE! Anyway, I've never been into books with two guys in it. Guess there's a first time f [...]

    2. I love this book! It was way, WAY better than I expected, and I really didn't think it could be that good considering it was that short, but boy, I was wrong! Scarlett Dawn did it again!! She's brilliant! (view spoiler)[When I first started reading this book I didn't think it had any gay/menage 'thingy' in it, but as I came more to the middle/to the end, I kinda knew something would happen sooner or later between Leo and Malik. So I'm really excited to see what will happen to Braita now, conside [...]

    3. OMFG! I didn't realize it was a serial or part of an installment! *Pulls out hair*No, I did not pay attention even though it was mentioned in the first freaking paragraph of the synopsis. All I saw was it was by Scarlett Dawn and I fuckin looooooved King Hall and all that so I was like Shit, this outta be good. And it was! It was so good. Well, the small 70 pages it had, that is Acccckkkk why?!???? I have to wait until November now for book 2. The beginning was a little too fast paced and I did [...]

    4. A nice start - The abrubt ending leaves you wanting more. It was just way too short but you can tell it has potential. Im glad it was offered as a freebie. I already went on to read book 2 but when I found it to be equally disappointing upon completion, I decided Im going to wait until all these serials are released so I can feel like Im reading an actual story.

    5. Fall is the first installment in the Cold Mark Saga written by the fabulous Scarlett Dawn. At just 66 pages, Fall delivers an amazing story with a surprising amount of world building for its short length. I viewed this story as a futuristic science fiction piece that centers on the new-adult age group. There is also an interesting romance element in this book, but it does not take center stage. I was completely engaged while reading and was left with my jaw dropped to the floor wanting desperate [...]

    6. I love Scarlett Dawn's previous works so when the chance came up to request and ARC of her new series, I jumped at the opportunity. I read the synopsis and it sounded pretty greathonestly, it didn't even come close to doing Fall justice. I went from guilt clenching emotion to laughing out loud back to guilt clenching emotion Dawn infuses her writing with pure magic! Magic that makes you take the character's journey, pulling you in as an intimate participant of the story. I was completely amazed [...]

    7. Fall is the first serial installment in Scarlett Dawn's Cold Mark Saga, a Sci-Fi light series. This is NOT a complete book.We find ourselves on Joyal, humanity's new home, more than 300 years into the future. When Earth was destroyed by pollution and general carelessness, it triggered an exodus from the dying world. Merely 1000 humans survived The Travel from shattered Earth to their new home planet. The survivors have found refuge in the Kline solar system, which, in addition to humans are inha [...]

    8. Middle of the road books are always the hardest ones for me to review. Books that I didn't exactly love, but I didn't hate either. Fall fits into that dreaded category. On the positive side, I absolutely love the new world Dawn has created. The basis of her new world was the destruction of Earth, forcing humans to find a new, habitable planet. Which they did among a choice of 3 options. Joyal has become the humans new home planet, but that doesn't last long. A tsunami forces Joyal's residents to [...]

    9. Fall was released early! I decided to tackle this bad boy ASAP (sorry for the cheese. I may or may not have completely lost my wits), and here is my raving reaction:Oh my god, you guys! This was amazing! I looooove this book!!! SO MUCH! I’m having serious issues explaining how much without overusing exclamation marks and my caps lock ;) I’ll keep this spoiler free. How I have missed Scarlett Dawn’s writing! She’s incredible. I’ve been reeling since King Cave, and my book hangover from t [...]

    10. I usually have a strict no partial “serial”, parcel reading policy (reading books with less than 100 pages in an unfinished series). If I want to read this type of series, I wait until all the parts are available to read. Exceptions have been made here.e Scarlett Dawn is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors! (If you haven’t started reading the Forever Evermore series, you should.) So, I set aside my self-imposed rule and picked up Fall knowing full well it’s a serial installment. [...]

    11. Holy wowt really a sci-fi reader but this book is strangely alluring. It has to be the writing style's completely unique to Scarlett. Full review to come!**FULL REVIEW**After Earth was destroyed, three planets that had been discovered and established, they became the new habitats for life forms through the solar system, Kline…Humans though only lived in Joyal. A peaceful planet. The other two, Egyac and Triaz were already inhabited by other alien life forms…one being deeply psychic and the o [...]

    12. Strap yourself in as the countdown to lift off begins ANOTHER amazing journey as told through Scarlett Dawn’s “out of this world” words and imagination! Fall the first installment in Ms. Dawn’s Cold Mark series of novellas proves that great things can come in small packages and be just as powerful as a tome many times its length.Earth "revolted" against the abuse it received, to survive, humans scatter to the heavens, seeking refuge on distant planets. When the small planet of Joyal prov [...]

    13. The writing is terrible, the premise of the story ridiculous, and the plot completely idiotic. I'm baffled by all the positive reviews. And world-building? There isn't any. Just illogical assumptions alternating with complete lack of description or explanation. For example, we're expected to believe that in other galaxies, on other planets, inhabited by other species, they eat the same foods we do--including apples, bagels, and spaghetti with tomato sauce. SPOILER ALERTHow does sending a few hum [...]

    14. My rating : 3 StarsThis is a very interesting start for a dystopia. I'm not sure I got it all, maybe because I wasn't paying enough attention or maybe because the author tried to say too much in few pages but for instance I have no clue of why they left Joyal or why only 600 or else. I can't describe a single character, and even less the Mians, except for their gender. Please can someone draw a Mian for me?I know that sometimes I complain about the lenght of some books at the beginning, but here [...]

    15. Wow! First off, just so you are aware Fall (Cold Mark #1) is a serial novel. In my excitement to read another book by my new favorite author, I didn't see how short this novella is However, don't let that stop you from diving into this amazing new series. This is a (very) adult sci-fi romance that is exceptionally original. The main character Braita is brave young woman thrust into a terrifying new world. Everything she's ever known is now different. This first novella gets you through the beginn [...]

    16. This is absolutely superb. I love the world that Scarlett has created, together with the imagination and reflection of culture versus relationships. The characters are individual and varied, together with that their unique personalities are also likable.A bit of a cliffhanger here, and I'm holding my breath for the next novel.Scarlett is definitely keeping a tight grip on her title as an excellent story craftsman, with a good grip on the high standard left by Kings Hall. The only thing I will say [...]

    17. So I quiet enjoyed this book, short as it was The ending was a little Well surprising The characters are all pretty cool and also weird, I can't tell if I like Briata She's spunky and all but I dunno there's something I can't put my finger on

    18. I was introduced to Scarlett Dawn’s work through her Forever Evermore Series and was enthralled with her characters in King Hall and King Cave. Now she has built a world in another solar system and her Cold Mark Saga from every indication, as I read and re-read Fall, appears to be another hit series for Dawn.Earth has been destroyed by its inhabitant’s carelessness, and merely one thousand former residents of earth survived The Travel (the exodus from their dying planet). They have found ref [...]

    19. I was gifted a copy for an honest review.Firstly, let me say that I am NOT a sci-fi reader - at all - but I really enjoyed Fall.It took me a little while to get my head around who all the players were, but once I did this story moved full steam ahead! This novella is pretty action packed, and though it is a short story, it packs quite a punch.Braita (I am probably pronouncing her name and plenty of others wrong in my head) is a strong, feisty woman who you definitely would not want to cross! The [...]

    20. This review and more at tattooedbookreview.“My life was changing so much; it would make a lesser woman lose her sanity.”Scarlett Dawn is one of my go-to authors; If she writes it, I read it. Which means I was ecstatic when I learned that she was writing a sci-fi series. I love sci-fi and couldn’t wait to see what this author would bring to the table; and I’m thrilled to say I’m not disappointed. With her usual brave and edgy writing style, Dawn brings us a unique new story of a young wo [...]

    21. Looking at the reviews I think most of us who have read this so far are starting our reviews off with “I don’t normally read sci-fi but…”. Starting mine off that way too. I don’t like the typical aliens invading Earth, green Martian men, shoot em to the end of the galaxy type of book. Thankfully, this is not one of those books. :DOnly 1000 humans survived the travel to Joyal from Earth, which we destroyed. Braita is one of the humans chosen to travel to Mian after their village is dest [...]

    22. I was gifted a copy of this book for an honest review. So now's the time where I tell you I am NOT a sci-fi reader. I really get bored w/ all the lingo/mumbo jumbo and I just quit reading. I almost let that stop me but decided to plow on hard could 8 chapters be right?OH MY GOODNESS! Scarlett Dawn is an amazing writer. I believe I've said that at least once in my reviews of her other works. She definitely worked her magic with this story for me. There's a bunch of names I can't spellobably am no [...]

    23. I was given a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review. For the second time, I started a series by Scarlett Dawn, and felt relief reading that first book. It was if I had been waiting to read it - even though I didn't know what would happen! This is also the second time I have been sucked into a series by her. While reading it, I was on an emotional rollercoaster. One moment I would be laughing hysterically, the next I would be laying down - clutching my e-reader while I tried not to [...]

    24. maybe it's just me, but I wanted 5 stars, but could only give 3. one demerit- I hate tiny installments. too much unnecessary cliffhangers, too often. second demerit- I can't un-see that last few pages. call me old fashioned, but a girl can't get into dudes who think they are hotter and "stuff" than she is. maybe other people dig it, but I'm way to possessive for sharing. now, I've suspended my inner prude for sci-fi before and no doubt I'll do it again, but the boys lost hotness points big time. [...]

    25. Reviewer: BexDisclosure: This ebook was provided by the author in exchange for an HONEST and not necessarily positive review. Fall is a wonderful novella by Scarlett Dawn. Following the feisty Braita, this fabulous sci-fi, action, romance opens up to an amazing new world, a world which the author describes creatively and with vivid detail.Through tears of laughter, frustration and sorrow, Braita was a pleasure to journey with. I was thoroughly immersed into Scarlett Dawn's futuristic world and w [...]

    26. I think this has the ability to be a good storyline with interesting characters. However, this first book of the series was so short (only 8 chapters) I'm reserving any real opinion until I have more to build on. I really felt like I was just introduced to the story without much build up and then the book just ended. So we shall see I really hope the 2nd book has more to sink your teeth into.

    27. I originally thought this was a novel but it's actually a novella - just so you know! And it is a great introduction to the series, don't get me wrong! But it just wasn't enough for me!! I will be picking up the next book because I want to know what happens but I could have used more to make me feel something for the characters. At this stage the aliens aren't hot enough and Braita bugs me.

    28. Wow!! Its a fast pace book.Did I say I love this book?Bratia is an 18 year old and her best friend Jax was send off to the other species to survive on a different planets. Very quickly her honorable actions had put her in the eyes of many "noble men" What happen to Jax?Who has choosen her? What would become of her in this new world?

    29. An interesting but short start to this scifi series. Braita is a very enjoyable character to read and root for. She's thrust into a world and circumstances beyond her control and she learns to adapt and survive. I'm interested to see where this story goes and what happens to not only Braita and Jax but also Leo and Malik. The story left in a cliffhanger so be warned!
