    1. so, what i am understanding from this cover:is that a bunch of crazy animals wearing gang-affiliation stars killed someone to bake into a cake for their crazy animal wedding? but that it's okay because it's organic? seven basic plots, my ass

    2. Ironically, one of my book buddies suggested we do a buddy read on Liz Mugavero's first Pawsitively Organic Mysteries called 'Kneading to Die.' Not only will I read just about anything, but we both like cozies/mysteries. She didn't care for it and I loved itlol. So, I have continued on with the series reading the 2nd one and now this, the 3rd. They just keep getting better in my humble opinion. I think Ms. Mugavero has hit upon a winning combination of having a quirky town, Frog Ledge, quirky ch [...]

    3. I love Liz Mugavero's books! I love Frog Ledge, CT and I love all the quirky characters and pets that live there. The latest book has done nothing but solidify my love for this series. Stan always seems to be in the middle of the action in Frog Ledge, whether it be a pet birthday bash or a wedding or the annual groundhog day celebration as in this book. Just as Stan was getting ready to give the groundhog its annual treat from the town, disaster strikes and the town historian, Helga Oliver, is f [...]

    4. This series gets better with each story!! Remember Stan Conner, owner of Pawsitively Organic Gourmet Pet Food, in the picturesque New England town of Frog Ledge? Well, in this story, one of the town's oldest civic leaders and historians, takes a tragic, fatal header down the basement stairs of the local museum during Groundhog Day festivities. Stan's boyfriend, Jake McGee, has a sister, Jesse Pasquale, who's a State Trooper, and who is not happy to find Stan at the accident scene. Nosing around, [...]

    5. I was so glad, when I heard I won a copy of this book from the author, Liz Mugavero. I've been a fan of these books since reading the first book a few years ago. The cast of characters are enjoyable to read about and the town, Frog Ledge, the name along is just to adorable. This was another great story in the series. The mystery and story, was fast paced and the mysteries were fantastic. There was a lot happening in this story between the main mystery, about the towns historian, if her death was [...]

    6. I always love visiting Frog Ledge with Stan and the gang. Stan finds herself again in the middle of a murder investigation when the towns historian falls down a flight of stairs. This is a fun book! I read the whole thing in a day, it was hard to put down. What is not to love about a murder investigation, a ghost hunt, and a doggie wedding? I look forward to the next in the series!

    7. Frog Ledge’s Groundhog Day celebration is cut short when the town historical, elderly Helga Oliver, is found dead at the bottom of the Historical Museum stairs. But when whispers that it was murder reach Stan’s ears, she begins to dig in and see if she can find the truth. There are many plot threads introduced early that slow down the pacing of the story a little, but as the book progresses, we see how everything ties together. There are some good twists and a creative climax. The characters [...]

    8. The town of Frog Ledge is celebrating Groundhog Day when the body of Helga is found in the museum basement. Helga is much loved and everyone is dismayed by her death. As plans proceed for a Memorial and funeral Stan learns that there might more to Helga's death. The investigation shows that the death of the historian is tie to a old unsolved murder. Meanwhile Stan planing a wedding to two dog. As Helga's has no home Stan adopts him. The book is fast moving and the characters will become friends. [...]

    9. The Icing on the Corpse by Liz Mugavero is an enchanting cozy mystery. We get to return to Frog Ledge, Connecticut where Stan Connor has been living for the last year and has started her business Pawsitively Organic (making meals and treats for pets). It is Groundhog’s Day which is a big celebration for the town. Stan has been chosen as the Groundhog Gift-Giver and she has to give something special to Lilypad, the groundhog. Before the ceremony, Helga Oliver, the town historian, goes missing. [...]

    10. Humourous Small Town Mystery I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it's the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It's probably the most important thing in a person. -Audrey Hepburn Maybe your weird is my normal. Who's to say? -Nicki Minaj I have one word to say about The Icing on the Corpse. Quirky. What else can it be but quirky and funny when it is set in Frog Ledge, Connecticut? Especially when the mystery occurs during the annual Groundhog Day Festival. A [...]

    11. I remember when I read the first book in this series, KNEADING TO DIE, and thought to myself, “I can’t wait to come back to Frog’s Ledge for another visit. So, when I started reading THE ICING ON THE CORPSE, book three, I immediately felt like one does when they go on vacation to a favorite spot. I was happy, excited, and relaxed. Author Liz Mugavero has penned another winning story. The opening paragraph alone insured I would spend more time reading at one sitting than I should…and I di [...]

    12. I'm usually a stickler for reading a series in order. But, cozy mysteries are my guilty pleasure and my library system stocks very few of them. Even the ones that exist are missing certain volumes. So I've finally decided to bite the bullet and read what I can. It mostly doesn't matter. Also, for a challenge enthusiast, having an I title doesn't hurt. As expected, it was a fast read. The main character showed some sense. The romance angle requires some work, but then I always think cozy mystery [...]

    13. I won an advance copy in a FB drawing. How exciting. This is the 3rd installment in the series, Pawsitively Organic. Our herione Stan, a smart girl who gave up corporate America to live in a small town, is once again trying to find a killer. This time the victim is very close to the family of Jake, her boyfriend and brother of the law enforcer. I must admit I did not guess the killer early on. This drama held my interest and made me keep reading. I truly love the characters in this series. You w [...]

    14. This is the third book in the Pawsitively Organic Mystery series. I have not read the previous books in the series. I received this book thru First Reads on . The main character is Stan(Kristan)Conner who makes natural organic treats for dogs and cats. The book begins with Stan creating a treat for Frog Ledge, Connecticut's groundhog day festivities. A death occurs and thus begins a journey for Stan to find out who and why. Another story line is about ghost hunters in the town. Another story lin [...]

    15. Loved itAnother fun read! Looking forward to the next book in the series. Pets and murder mysteries and a nice cup of coffee or tea

    16. A doggie wedding, a ghost hunt, a dead historian and a 60 year old cold case, add up to one hell of a week for Stan and the denizens of Frog Ledge. With crackling wit, clever plot twists and the usual cast of quirky characters, The Icing on the Corpse, is a delightfully twisted addition to the Pawsitively Organic Mystery series!

    17. Frog Ledge is hopping with an old murder, a new murder, ghost hunting and a dog wedding! Several storylines intertwined together and culminate in healing some wounds. The ending is a cliffhanger so I can’t wait to read the next installment!

    18. Loved the latest in the series, Stan and the menagerie are in rare form, in this latest volume that includes the death of a beloved historian, an old building haunted by a 60 year old ghost and a doggy wedding!!!!!!

    19. This series is continuing to grow on me. Loving the recipes and the mysteries and the relationships that are evolving over the series. On to the next book!

    20. Here are links to my reviews of the first 2 books in the series:Book 1 ~ Kneading to Die:saphsbookblog/201Book 2 ~ A Biscuit, A Casket:saphsbookblog/201Stan has been in Frog Ledge for about a year and it's time to celebrate Groundhog's Day. This is a big deal to the sleepy little town but the groundhog is overshadowed by the sudden death of local historian, Helga Oliver. Found at the bottom of the stairs in the museum, at first glance her death doesn't appear to be suspicious. Clues that speak o [...]

    21. Stan Connor, is the owner of Pawsitively Organic, where she makes home-made pet food and treats for dogs and cats. She is attending the Groundhog Day festivities in the small town of Frog Ledge, Connecticut where she lives. So when she meets Sarah Oliver, a self-proclaimed psychic, who immediately claims there's something wrong with her mother, Helga, the town's historian, and she is later found at the bottom of the stairs of the museum, Stan knows that something Just Isn't Right. Especially whe [...]

    22. Stan has been given the prestigious honor of presenting Lilypad, the groundhog, a special treat for Groundhog’s Day. She has made a special cookie for Lilypad, since she owns a gourmet pet bakery shop. But before the event happens, tragedy strikes and someone is murdered. The local town historian is the victim and her death impacts many of the residents of Frog Ledge, including Jake, Stan’s boyfriend, and his family. No one knows why she was killed, but Stan plans on figuring out the answer. [...]

    23. I liked Icing on the Corpse more than I did A Biscuit, A Casket. This book had a lot of sub plots which was a plus and minus. It made the world of Frog Ledge more interesting, but cut back from time spent on the mystery. There is no way the reader could guess who dunnit by what clues we're given and by how much sleuthing anyone is doing.I still don't find the characters particularly likable, no one talks to each other, instead they get mad and cut the "offender" off. This happens between several [...]

    24. The Icing on the Corpse is a mystery to be savored by animal lovers and mystery lovers alike.Stan has settled in the rural town of Frog Ledge, Connecticut and her organic pet food and treats business is doing well. So well, that she has been given the dubious honor of providing a unique treat for the star of Frog Ledge's annual Groundhog Day celebration. Before the festivities can begin, Helga Oliver, Frog Ledge's beloved historian, is found dead in the museum's basement. When it becomes clear th [...]

    25. Princess Fuzzypants here to review the lastest book by Liz Mugavero. Momma and I have loved this series from the start. How could we not adore a series that had both a schnoodle (my brother was a schnauzer) and a Maine Coon kitty (like meow). The fact that Stan, our heroine is a great character only makes the books even more enjoyable Momma really connected with Stan leaving her high profile, high pressure career, and retrenching in a small town doing something she loved- making pet treats. I ju [...]

    26. 4 STARS This is a cute animal lover mystery. There is a dog wedding in this cozy mystery. There is a death and it might be connected to a murder in 1948 that was never solved. Lots of drama, relationships, and humor. It is also a clean read. Kristan "Stan" Connor is single and she makes pet treats and meals as a business. She has been dating Jake. She has 2 dogs and 1 cat and finds a cat on her door step with a note on her collar asking for a home. There is a celebration on the green on ground h [...]

    27. I read this book for a blog tour so did receive an ecopy in exchange for my opinion.I believe I would have enjoyed it more if I had read previous books in the series but it does well as a stand alone. The story begins on Groundhog's Day, February second, in Frog Ledge, a quirky small town, where if you were not born there, no number of years qualifies you to qualify as a true resident. Stan is a transplant of less than a year, but she is dating Jake, who has deep roots in the area. Before the gro [...]

    28. FTC Disclosure: I received an advance e-copy in exchange for an honest review.I had not read any of Liz's books before signing up to participate in this tour. When I started reading my review copy, I knew that I wanted to read the whole series - that this would be one of those series that I would add to my standing always read list. I quickly snagged the first two books from . You can easily read this third installment in the series without having read the first two, but I'm certain that after y [...]

    29. I love this book, how can't you love a book where there is a real marriage amongst dogs, with even clothes and cake. The plot is compelling and convincing, the characters are singular and fun, the small town where everything takes place is the ideal setting and adorable are the various animals that we encounter.Stan lives just recently to Frog Ledge, a small town in Connecticut. She's starting to date with Jack and her activities of homemade treats for dogs and cats is going very well. The Groun [...]
