    1. After asking to hear about the play l'd been to see, and whetting their appetites with my conclusion "and everybody died", (EVERYBODY??)l picked this up one evening when my children were quite tired. l expected to read a few pages, stop to explain a great deal and repeat over the next few nights. lnstead, we gobbled it up in one sitting and they listened in rapt silence. "What a mess of dying" as my seven year old succinctly put it. We had an interesting discussion afterwards regarding belief in [...]

    2. Originally published on my blog: Witch Plus CatI found Hamlet to be interesting, not just the book but his character. He is trying to find proof that his uncle killed his father, but his choices in finding out backfires.I liked that when his father’s ghost appears, he doesn’t automatically believe in it. Maybe he doesn’t want to.Pretending to be mad to get answers was obviously not the best idea, could kind of see where that was going to lead to.Don’t expect happily ever after when readi [...]

    3. I want to read more Shakespeare's but didn't know where to start so I bought the kids versions of his works. They are easy to understand and have some nice illustrations to look at, plus the covers are in my opinion so cute. I found the story of Hamlet rather intriguing and defiantly wast to read the original.

    4. Very quick and enjoyable read of this children's version of Hamlet. Will read more from this author soon, of you don't want to read the Shakespearean version or take up a lot of time, this is perfect for you.

    5. 3.5 starsThis is my first time reading Hamlet and I really did enjoy this read because unlike macbeth hamlet was not driven by power of the want to become king, he simply wanted revenge for the murder of his father which leads to some other tragic events.

    6. This story was talk about a prince father had been killed. He tried to revenge to her aunt. The content of this story was so good because a lot of characters were dead by killing each other. Finally all characters dead so the story quite dramatic.

    7. Recently I became interested in Shakespeare and I loved this book! Set in Denmark in the 13th century Prince Hamlet's father has recently died and his uncle Claudius has become King. He is told his fathers death was caused when he was sleeping in the orchard and out of nowhere a snake bit him and the poison from it killed him. His mother has in my opinion gotten over his fathers death to quickly and has married Claudius. Some of the guards have told the Prince they've spotted the late kings ghos [...]

    8. Another Shakespeare book I have found at school. I never liked Shakespeare when I was at school but after watching a few plays at the theatre I have decided to see what his stories were on about - although only in a simplified children's version.Obviously I had heard of Hamlet but that was about all. Hamlet sees his father's ghost and is told that he was murdered by the man now married to his mother. But Hamlet cannot decide if the ghost was real or if his mind was playing tricks on him so he se [...]

    9. I got Clara a box set of these Shakespeare Stories for her birthday and thought we'd tackle Hamlet first. It is quite short, but I still didn't anticipate reading it all in one sitting! She got really into the story and it was such a departure from anything else we've ever read aloud that she was all giggles by the end when she realized that everyone dies. :)

    10. I always use this as an introduction to Shakespeare to my middle school students. It does the trick and has them on the edge of their seats! Well adapted for young minds, while holding the play's original appeal.

    11. This version of Hamlet was amazing. I remember reading Hamlet growing up, and it was a very hard read. This version is set to be student and kid friendly. It makes it easy for students to understand. The language that is used is great for young students.

    12. I had never heard the story of Hamlet before and it is quite shocking!Well written version of the story for children and good for adults who want to know about Shakespeare's tales too. Makes me want to read or see the full version.

    13. This is a play from William Shakespeare, the greatest writer of plays in the old days. This play was about a Denmark prince's dad, which was the king. He was killed by Hamlet's uncle. Hamlet tried to avenge his father by killing his uncle. In the end, Hamlet also died.

    14. I loved this book, it was almost as though I was inside the book.Hamlet is a very dramatic book even the junior version but I love it drearily.

    15. Really interesting read.A lot of blood and gore - probably wouldn't use it in a lesson to adapt from Shakespeare because of the incest in the original version.

    16. The boys were less enthused over Shakespeare's tragedies than his comedies. I thought this was a great version for kidsI mean, if there is such a thing.
