    About "Karl Schroeder"

      • Karl Schroeder

Karl Schroeder Is a well-known author, some of his books are a fascination for readers like in the Permanence book, this is one of the most wanted Karl Schroeder author readers around the world.

    4. The story was disjointed and while it alluded to some extremely vague and poorly described theories it did not gain the respect of the reader. Pretty much a hodgepodge of silly phrases and names for processes that had no connection to any science of today taken into further development in the future.I really tried very hard but had to stop at chapter 28 with the soapy and exceedingly naive romantics.I cannot believe that I let it go on that long.

    5. I honestly picked up this book to kinda prove myself wrong on the old adage, "You can't judge a book by its cover", so I did. I picked this one due to the appealing art graphic on the jacket of the book. I ended up enjoying this book a lot. It gets a little slow in the middle, but this is where the author really builds each character that is introduced in this Outer Space Soap. I honestly believe that this would make a great movie if ever made.

    6. This is a book full of big ideas, taking a long view of civilization and its potential to endure. Rather than bridging the significant gaps in time that are necessary to bring character's plans to fruition with narrative synopses, the story is broken up into separate "books" which jump abruptly from the times when plans are being formed to when they're moving into action. That said this isn't really an action book and it does best when it's not trying to be. As an imaginative look at what gal [...]

    7. "Permanance" is Karl Schroeder's followup novel to his amazing "Ventus," and it doesn't come close to that stunning debut novel. It tells the story of Rue Cassells, who discovers an interstellar object that turns out to be an abandoned alien artifact, and her friend and onetime lover Michael Bequith, an assistant to a truly nutty professor, who comes along for the ride. The tale is jagged, confusing, jumbled. Its characters do what they do because Mr. Schroeder wants them to, not from any sort of [...]

    8. I enjoyed this one as much as I did Ventus. Instead of focusing on one planet, the canvas is the galaxy, and so even more entertaining. And the fresh ideas never stop coming. The jump cutting which some reviewers see as a jumble didn't bother me, though some of it is clumsy, as if an editor-in-a-hurry dictated it without much forethought. But I soon settled into the story again, and even appreciated moving on.I also don't get the accusation of flat, wooden characters. They are no different in Per [...]
