    1. Third time reading this novella and it was still so fun! I didn't have any plans on reading this again, until I needed it for a challenge, but it was actually perfect timing as I now am ready to read the newest Rock Harbor,, book since I'm all familiar again with the characters! Cannot wait!--Reread this novella for a challenge and I really enjoyed it again. I loved the characters and the ending was just too cute! :) Not suspenseful, but still good.

    2. A very good short Christmas season mystery. I enjoyed the family bit of the story best and loved the meaningful ending. Even people who don't like mystery would enjoy this one. There is nothing yucky or gory, except for a brief mention of an injured dog getting treated. (Injured by trying to save someone, not by abuse.)

    3. I bought this at the bookstore blindly. They had a shelf of Christmas themed books and I just grabbed a couple of them. I didn't look close at all or I would've noticed it was a novella from a popular book series. It was easy enough to follow along, really didn't need to know the backstory for this one. They caught you up on anything that you might need to know and it was just a simple little mystery. I also missed when I grabbed this one that it was Christian fiction. I didn't find it overly pr [...]

    4. As you all know, Colleen Coble is one of my all time favorite authors. Her books continue to captivate me and pull me in. The Rock Harbor series is one of my favorites, so imagine my surprise and delight when I discovered this gem of a novella! I thoroughly enjoyed revisiting my friends Kade and Bree from Rock Harbor. As always, the suspense and mystery were very well written and kept me turning the pages and wanting more. If you're looking for a short mystery/suspense with a happy ending, this [...]

    5. Read this in 25 minutes while on the treadmill! Made my time go fast! Was so disappointed to see it end. A visit to Rock Harbor is always good. Caught my attention right away and kept,it til the quick end.

    6. I was sad after reading the whole Rick Harbor series this was the end for Bree and Sampson. Great series! There were two books in one and I wasn't expecting a complete new line of up characters. That was a little jump for me. Holy Night was a short story with mystery, but I would have liked more of the Matthews!

    7. A great quick read bringing us back to Rock Harbor for Christmas. Love this series and looking forward to the next book.

    8. This short read was very enjoyable. What I Liked: I was able to read this story within a couple days it was so short, but I felt that Colleen Coble did a good job with the story. It had a good plotline and wrapped up quickly with no loose ends. It had a very nice, sweet ending. I liked Laurie a lot more in this book and I like how she and Kade's brother/sister relationship got better in this story. What I Didn't Like: There wasn't anything that I didn't like.I give this book 5 stars for a sweet st [...]

    9. Colleen Coble in her new E-book “Silent Night book coverSilent Night” Book Six in the Rock Harbor series published by Thomas Nelson takes us into the life of Bree Matthews and Samson, her search-and-rescue dog. From the back cover: As Christmas day nears, Bree and her faithful search-and-rescue dog Samson follow the trail of a troubling mystery into the snowy forests of Rock Harbor.Bree Matthews is preparing for Christmas guests, but her heart is reeling from the recent and tender loss of her [...]

    10. Bree and Kade Matthews wanted children but after her miscarriage she hadn't been able to get pregnant and it was weighing heavily on both their hearts. Although they had Davey, Bree's son from a previous marriage, they wanted one together. When Kade mentions adoption Bree agrees to consider it but deep down she knows it won't be the same. Being a search and rescue worker helps to keep her mind off of her troubles but she never gives up hope of having her own child.Kade's sister has been a handfu [...]

    11. I have not read any of other Rock Harbor stories, but I was presented with the opportunity to review this one. It seemed interesting so I thought I'd give it a shot. Listed as Rock Harbor #6 it is a short Christmas novella for the series.I don't know much about the series or the characters. I have to be honest when I'm writing my review. You want me to be honest. I still feel I don't know much about the characters or the series after reading the novella. A novella is shorter than a novel, but th [...]

    12. I'm sure it will come as no surprise to you all you've been reading this blog for awhile that I was excited to review Silent Night: A Rock Harbor Christmas Novella by Colleen Coble. She's one of my favorite authors and I have read and reviewed many of her books in the past couple of years. This novella was centered around one of my favorite families introduced to us in her Rock Harbor series. Bree and Kade have one son named Davy (from her first marriage) and a search dog named Samson. Kade's pa [...]

    13. Silent Night is a wonderful novella about family and recognizing what is important in your life. I’ve read a book by Colleen Coble previously Tidewater Inn and I enjoyed it so I thought I would give this a try. To my surprise, familiar characters popped up. Bree and her search-and-rescue dog Samson have an important role in Tidewater. This story takes place a few years previously that that story.Bree is making a life for herself with her new husband and her son from her previous marriage. Whil [...]

    14. I really enjoyed Colleen Coble's Tidewater Inn so I was happy to read this short novella in time for Christmas. The main characters of Silent Night, Bree and her search-and-rescue dog Samson, also made a cameo in Tidewater Inn, and are featured in the Rock Harbor Series. The story starts just before Christmas in the snowy wonderland of Rock Harbor on Lake Superior's Northern shore. Bree and her husband Kade are mourning their loss due to miscarriage, but looking forward to spending Christmas wit [...]

    15. “Silent Night, Holy Night.” So goes the opening to the favorite Christmas carol Silent Night begins. We are discussing today the short story by Colleen Coble Silent Night.Synopsis:Bree and Kade are getting ready to celebrate Christmas with their family. Lauri Kade’s sister comes home early from college. Her excuse is illness but could there be more to her story? 16. Colleen Coble is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Her books contain realistic places, characters and story lines that are guaranteed to keep you up well past your bedtime while you promise yourself just one more chapter"Silent Night" is one of those stories. A short novella that takes place around Christmastime, this story does not need the reader to have read the other books in the Rock Harbor series to enjoy and connect with the characters. I find it amazing that Colleen can have t [...]

    17. Come back with me to Rock Harbor this Christmas I have thoroughly enjoyed Colleen Coble's Rock Harbor Mystery series thus far, and this is no different. I admire authors who can write novellas, with the same depth to their characters, the same suspense and awesome climax we have come to expect from them, in the reduced variation of a short story. Although we return to Bree and Kade, and they feature largely in it, this story is really about Lauri, Kade's irresponsible sister. Join me in learning [...]

    18. Review on : amazon/review/R34P1675Review on my blog: christianbookshelfreviews4.5 starsSilent Night was a great novella, though really short. I loved reading another story about Bree and her family - I loved the Rock Harbor series and Abomination (which is one of my favorite reads). The story wasn't that suspenseful to me, but I still enjoyed it and recommend Silent Night to fans of Colleen Coble and her Rock Harbor series.*Disclosure of Material Connection: I received one or more of the product [...]

    19. All seems quiet as the holidays approach until Bree’s sister-in-law, Lauri, arrives unannounced. 20. Love Love Love this novella!!! And this author!!! I love the characters and their relationships especially Bree and Kade's! I love the mystery and the excitement and I absolutely LOVE the end!!! This in my first Rocky Harbor book and it only made me want to read more!!! I MUST see how all these characters started. I really enjoy all the different occupations and aspects especially the search and rescue. I really love the way Colleen writes and the whole flow of the story; blending some humor wit [...]

    21. Disclosure: I received a review copy in exchange for my honest opinion.Another book by Colleen that I should have paid attention to when signing up to read and review! As if my wishlist on wasn't long enough already! The one thing I loved about Silent Night is that the mystery//suspense wasn't played out for too long. Call comes in, Bree and Samson head out, things happen, loose ends of the mystery were tied together, and that was that. Then there was time for the two backstories to cleared up [...]

    22. This is a great heart-warming story. I just adored reading this today and it only took a few hours to complete (and that was with eating and everything getting in my way lol). I couldn't stop reading this, when I began, and I am very glad to have been able to read thisese are some of the good teaser notes that i jotted down as i was reading, these may contain small SPOILERSBree Matthews : 37 yrs old husband - Kade married - 3yrs search dog - Samson - German shepherd/Chow mix Davy -9 yrs old - 1s [...]

    23. Silent Night is another thrilling Novella from Colleen Coble this holiday season! I finished Holy Night earlier in the week and this one was just as exciting!Bree and her husband Kade do search and rescue missions near their home by Lake Superior. When someone goes missing and they begin the search, they never could have imagined the personal connection that will hit close to home.I love how Coble connects all the different characters in ways you don’t see coming. The thing I enjoy about these [...]

    24. I will say up front that I was quite disappointed in this box. I realize that it was a novella, and reading the book couldn't have been easier. However, the execution of the story seemed rather hackneyed and sometimes even boring. The characters were fine, but I struggled to connect with them.In spite of this, there were some familiar components. There was a bit of mystery, some heartfelt sorrow and joy, and the essential happy ending. The Christian message was subdued, but it was clear that the [...]

    25. Although this was marketed as a novella, I still expected it to be longer. It ended at 59% of the Kindle product, and the remainder was excerpts from Coble's other pieces. Because I was unfamiliar with the characters (I haven't read any of the other books in the series), I felt they were not well-enough developed to stand alone in this book. The drama between Lauri and her brother seemed simplistically resolved. Other factors were unrealistically presented too, but I don't want to spoil the plot [...]

    26. I've read the first three books in the Rock Harbor series several years ago, so I knew the characters somewhat which helped I think. The story was a simple one, there want much suspense or mystery but it was still quite enjoyable and an easy read this time of the year. I liked seeing the relationship between Bree and her husband, how they are dealing with a particular difficult issue in their lives.
