    1. Still, At Your Door is a heartbreaking but hopeful tale of three sisters—Bri, Missy, and Grace—trying to make sense of the world in their own way while struggling to survive in a family household where they should feel protected and nurtured, but instead witness their father abusing their mother, and their mother reaching for alcohol as the answer to their collective suffering. One day, the sisters are ushered by their mother to pack their bags as fast as they can—they’re finally leaving [...]

    2. The only way to begin this review is to let you know this book is exquisite. I was engrossed throughout and heaved a contented, if regretful, sigh at the last sentence. The finish was satisfying but I still wanted more. The main character Bri (short for Sabrina) unfolds slowly, realistically and beautifully as the story progresses. Coming from a difficult background she learned early on how to protect herself and her sisters from the effects of her mothers 'mania'. When they are finally deserted [...]

    3. Where do I start? The writing was beautiful. Ms. Ramos has a way with words that takes your hand and draws you into her world in a matter of moments, and there she keeps you until the very last page is finished. Still, At Your Door is a book about the lives of three girls after their mother abandons them at their grandparents house in New York City. As the story progresses and you learn just how screwed up their lives had been, you will find yourself longing for these girls to belong, to find th [...]

    4. I read this author's poetry book a few years ago and was extremely impressed. This book is beautiful. There were sentences that were poetic and so vivid. I fell in love with the main character immediately.I read this book in one sitting after it came in. I think what touched me most was the relationship between Sabrina and her mother. The author totally captured Manic depression in this book. I found myself referring to my undergrad psych courses. The ending was not a total shock, but it left me [...]

    5. Still, At Your Door: A Fictional Memoir is a very real, very fluid lesson in life, in abuse, the dynamics of power, of sex and the relationships between people. In this book, Author Emma Eden Ramos brings forth both the bitter and the sweet on wings of articulate, elegant prose, delivering a read that is as deep and wise as it is gripping and powerful.

    6. I won this book through first reads & finished it the same day it came! I absolutely LOVED it - Cannot wait to read more from this author!

My Review~~I received this book in exchange for a honest unbiased review. This book is so beautifully written and compelling that it is making it hard to put into words what I want to say. 8. I received this book free for an honest review, which I am giving. I usually only review completely clean books; however, sometimes due to the subject matter, the books I review do have swearing/bad language. This is one of those books. The way the girls were raised justifies it. Not just thrown in because it's the cool thing to do.Still, At Your Door is a beautifully written fictional memoir of Sabrina, a teenaged girl, who loses her father at a young age and is raised by a manic depressive mot [...]

    9. 'Still, at Your Door' is a bittersweet story of three sisters who, after years of a traumatic childhood, was suddenly abandoned by their mother , on the porch steps of their maternal grandparent's door. This is a tale of peer pressure callousness, dysfunctional families and overcoming trials.I can analyze the jest of the title's relationship to the story but I would be guessingThe title's relevance to the story is vague. The book cover is effective though and allows the reader a glimpse of the d [...]

    10. How do I put this into words? This story TRULY impacted me! I saw parallels to my own story. It helped me to gain a new perspective where I was just too blinded by bitterness. Thank you, Emma. The characters felt alive to me. I cared for them. I just wanted to hug to girls and let them know things will be ok. Ms. Ramos writes so beautifully. I felt like I was reading the words from a beautiful and sincere soul. I didn't want this book to end! I think I'm ordering another copy (Plus, The Realm of [...]

    11. A masterpiece, quite simply, a masterpiece. I had read Emma Eden Ramos' mg novel, Realm of the Lost two years ago and loved it, but this goes far beyond. Ramos' writing is exquisite, a pleasure to read, deep, rich. I didn't check where I was in the book until I'd nearly finished it, I was so absorbed. This is the sort of book that would win the governor general's award were it Canadian, but it's not, so I'm hoping there's a similar one in the US. This story deserves it.

    12. This is a beautifully written story about a young girl who is forced to grow up too fast, being parent to her two younger sisters while still just a teen herself. Her father is gone, her mother is damaged, and Bri is left to pick up the pieces. This is a must read.

    13. I LOVED this book! I actually read it twice. Words can't express. Just read it cus it's SO Beautiful. The characters don't leave you.
