    1. Am I the only one who got the love at first sight feeling here? AND that there's a love triangle coming up? I liked Andre de Leon and Lucifer wasting. Though Gabrielle Fiori annoyed me most of the time. I'm sure I'll continue with the series, however I'm not sure if I'll like it. This book really had a potential to be good, but Gabrielle as a main character destroyed things for me and how she reacted to something and believed everything that was said to her. But like it said, I liked Andre de Le [...]

    2. Did somebody turn up the heat? No, that’s just the Unearthly…and Gabrielle Fiori. I don’t often read in the YA paranormal romance genre, mostly because I’m so sick of shallow, insecure, simpering female leads. Gabrielle Fiori was anything but. She’s confident and goes after what she wants, and she’s just dripping with attitude. While reading The Unearthly, I felt like shouting out, “Finally!” For once, an author gets it.**SPOILER ALERT***Gabrielle Fiori is the last of the sirens, [...]

    3. 3.75 starsI was ready to be disappointed, but it wasn't the case. I am glad to have discovered this series, it had a great start. Also, the other books seem to be better. *fingers crossed**Review to come!*-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I picked this book up in a whim because I was bored with what I was reading at the moment and wanted something light, intriguing and with fantastical elements. And The Unearthly is just that. Laura Thalassa did [...]

    4. Actual review:One thing this book has made me realize is the fact that I don't mind if century year old vampires fall in love with high school girls if they are stuck at the age of a high school teenager. But when you have a century old vampire in his mid to late twenties falling for a high school girl, I do not like that.Usually I break my reviews up into my likes and dislikes, but there isn't much that I liked about this book soCHARACTERS:a. I found the main character, Gabriella, to be extreme [...]

    5. THOUGHTS:1This is one of those terrible books that we've all come across. And it always has these elements in it:1. The most stupidest, insufferable main character that you could possibly imagine and that you repeatedly want to slap multiple times for their dumbass mistakes that even you can pick up from the start. 2. The worst love interest ever that's supposed to intrigue you but instead comes across as a jerk face. Even worse, this love interest is so cocky and arrogant he assumes girls want [...]

    6. ***** 5 Cranky Stars *****First of all, I found it hard to read this book…it was HARD TO PUT DOWN! I started and finished reading it in ten hours. Would have been less if I didn’t need to eat, drink…breathe! When I started reading it, I thought to myself: This sounds very much like Harry Potter. Orphan, check. Magical school, check. Two funny sidekicks, check. Main character clueless about own power, check. Only difference would be it’s about a teenage girl rather than a little boy. Then [...]

    7. So disappointed this was not even half as good as Mrs. Thalassa's other book The Queen of All that Dies (The Fallen World, #1).

    8. I think this is Laura's strong spot. She seriously kicks ass at urban fantasy! On to book 2!

    9. 2.5 stars Meh, super special snowflake teen goes to a boarding school for supernaturals and is mentored by a hot, rich, older vampire. The cover is pretty though.

    10. I was looking for a seriously good YA PNR book to read when I stumbled across Unearthly on . I won’t lie I am a bit of a cover whore, so the first thing that drew me to this book was the beautiful front cover. People who say that books shouldn’t be judged by their covers need to make good covers, 99% of the time people will pick up the book if it looks appealing and they will only read it if it has a good blurb. This book had both, along with lots of 5 star reviews. I can tell the author tri [...]

    11. I just realized that I hadn't reviewed this awesome YA paranormal by Laura Thalassa. I was lucky enough to beta read it before it was published, and these are the six reasons why I read it in one sitting:1) Andre. So.Freaking.Hot. His chemistry and passion with Gabrielle… awesome! Why am I so addicted to alpha males that rock in books?2) Gabrielle. This is the first siren I’ve ever read about in a paranormal young adult book, and she’s just damn cool.3) Gabrielle’s butt-kicking skills. I [...]

    12. Oh wow. Just wow! This book draws you in from the beginning and holds you there to the very end. Twists and turns galore! The story is fascinating, different, and will make you laugh out loud! Definitely recommend worthy!

    13. I should haven't started this book at 9pm. I totally intended to read for an hour or two tops- finished the book by 3am and was up for work at 7am. SO WORTH IT. Gabrielle enrolls into Peel Academy, a supernatural boarding school. In a ritual called the awakening, which brings out the students supernatural abilities, Gabrielle dies. She later awakens in a morgue as a half vampire and siren with a soulmate. She is the first vampire ever born and takes up training by Andre de Leon, sexy badass vamp [...]

    14. This book was pretty amazing! I L O V E books where the MC is a badass. And Gabrielle is definitely a badass. She takes no shit and doesn't let anyone push her around.(view spoiler)[It was kinda obvious that Andre was her soulmate. But I was still so stoked about that! Team Andre all the way! :DTheodore being the "bas guy" of this book threw me! I was not expecting it. It was a welcome surprise to not have known from the beginning who was hunting her.I cannot wait to see how her siren powers man [...]

    15. This was very fast paced and didn't have a dull page let alone chapter. Some of the chapters were written in the third person which i always love. I find it so limiting when its just the main characters point of view and it ends up feeling like your reading a diary instead of a book.Gabrielle acts way beyond her 16 years but I think it's for the best as know one wants a whiny immature heroine especially an immortal one. I thought Oliver was a great addition, I could imagine his flamboyant persona [...]

    16. I enjoyed this book but felt there was just a little something missing between the two main charactersybe their relationship was too rushed? I can't quite put my finger on it but I did enjoy book 1 & have immediately moved on to book 2. This story has a lot of potential so I'm hoping it gets better and better as it progresses.

    17. Pretty goodThe synopsis to this book is interesting but I enjoyed this read more than I thought I would. I was afraid that it'd be super YA and overly cute but I'm glad it was a fast, sexy and thrilling story.(view spoiler)[We never found out what the devil really wants with Gabrielle! BTW how creepy is it that she doesn't remember the night she was kidnap ? SO SCARED (hide spoiler)]So at the very beginning maybe for like one chapter or two I wasn't liking Gabrielle, because I was getting the vi [...]

    18. I was pleasantly surprised by this. I have an especial weakness for books/series set in boarding schools/academies for the ‘talented’ eg Harry Potter, Vampire Academy and the Covenant series. And arriving at the secret location of Peel Academy felt a little like coming back to Hogwarts. Hoorah!Surprisingly though, and I think this is a good thing, not much happens on the actual campus. There’s none of the boring routine of “I got up, went to class, it was super boring but I think the cla [...]

    19. Overall, this book was interesting. I've never read about a Siren before, much less one who's the last of her kind or who dies and turns into something else. Was wary at first about her relationship with the vampire, Andre, because flashes of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen went through my head, but I was wrong. Andre was not an emotionless, irritating, creepy stalker; and Gabrielle wasn't a whiny, clingy, helpless teenager. Andre and Gabrille were completely the opposite, al though Andre's interest [...]

    20. What a little gem I have found! I bought this book ages ago and while trying to clear off my ereader and being in the mood for anything, I clicked it and ran with it. I think I was afraid this was just a case of cover lust. Didn't have any clue what it was about and didn't read any reviews beforehand. So, this was a complete surprise to me and I was in love from the first couple chapters on. Read it the way I did (go in with no knowledge) but if you must read this firstQuick Rundown: Orphan Chic [...]

    21. Probably closer to 2.5, but I'll give it 3, because I was entertained.I love when stories have supernatural creatures, and I really love supernatural boarding schools. I know they're over done and usually not done with the best writing, but it's a guilty pleasure of mine. I love the unnecessary drama and ridiculousness of it. So this book gets 3 stars from entertainment alone.Characters. I did not like almost all of them. Gabrielle was really annoying and something about her just bugged me. I fe [...]

    22. “Be careful of whom you trust. Sometimes knowledge from the dead has a way of cursing the living.” The Unearthly is the first book in The Unearthly series by Laura Thalassa.Born a siren, Gabrielle Fiori has more supernatural blood running through her veins than she realises. After arriving at Peel Academy, an elite supernatural boarding school in the British Isle, Gabrielle is given an elixir meant to fully awaken her supernatural abilities.Twelve hours later she wakes up in a morgue and now [...]

    23. Slightly on the "too young to completely get into", but it is YA. I just see so much potential if this could move up in rating from a PG-13 to just below R! It's got so much going for it, so many qualities that it probably would have been a series I added to my favorites list. I'm still continuing series, while its missing heat for me, I still enjoy reading because it's a very fast easy read.

    24. I read this in a couple of hours. I need a life.I liked this. It was a quick read with action and romance. The pace in the beginning was too fast. The relationships between the characters were built out of thin air. One minute she was at home in the next she was at the academy. She was a normal girl one second and in the next she was a vampire/siren/soulmate. I didn't like that.Onto the next one.

    25. I was looking for a seriously good YA PNR book to read when I stumbled across Unearthly on . I won’t lie I am a bit of a cover whore, so the first thing that drew me to this book was the beautiful front cover. 26. The Unearthly was a pleasant surprise! Based on the first couple of chapters, I felt like this was just another YA Paranormal Romance where the heroine is super super special and gets the attention of the most popular supernatural guy around and they're destined to be together and they live happily ever after after he saves her from some baddies. Well, it is that, plus some interesting twists! Gabrielle was adopted when she was five after her parents died in a fire, so she has no clue what legac [...]

    27. 3.5 starsThe storyline was interesting and I enjoyed the characters and learning all of the supernatural beings that attended Peel Academy. However, I can't stand insta love and that's what happened here. I get why it was insta love and that made me hate it a little less but I still didn't have to like it.Also, I thought it was kind of stupid how Gabrielle reacted when she found out that there were freaking vampires and she was a siren and all this other crazy mythological stuff existed. She jus [...]

    28. I don't usually write reviews simply because I never know where to start but I thought I'd give this a go. I didn't really have many expectations starting this book since I pick what to read very randomly. Honestly I don't feel much for the book. It was by no means bad but for some reason I didn't find myself connected with the main character (Gabrielle) or involved in the story. I feel like they had the makings of good characters and an interesting fictional world but things were rather rushed. [...]

    29. For this review and more, visit my blog at :firesidecoffeeandbooks.weebly.2.5 starsGabrielle Fiori thought she was a normal girl. Just Kidding. She soon finds out she's the last Siren. And a Vampire. And a soul mate. And dead. Oops. It's okay she comes back!! Then she meets the fiesty and loyal Leanne and Gay as unicorns and rainbows, Oliver. That's great and all, but then she meets Andre De Leon, her soulmate. "Nope, no, none of that." Says Gabrielle. Too bad it was pretty much love at first si [...]
