    1. Rating: 3.5For full review visit:thebookcove/2013/09/reWhat I liked: Besides my general dislike of some serial publishing (see below why this one in particular was a little aggravating - though it's my fault for not checking), On Thin Ice is actually a very good book. For it only being 15,000 words, it packs quite the punch. You have two damaged souls looking for escape and it happens to be in the one place that prevents such escape - a rehab center. And it's this very environment that provides [...]

    2. Kylie is in a rehab center for alcoholism that started after some sort of accident. She has no intention of ever leaving the place, that is until she meets Daniel who checks in for pill popping. Can the two of them start to heal each other?I love the characters and the background of the story. The plot is decent and well written. The book flowed smoothly and the pace was great. But it definitely leaves you wanting more from the book. I didn’t realize this was a serial or series and it ends wit [...]

    3. First off, I don't know what the title and the cover had to do with anything. It's totally unrelated to the story.I'm not sure there was any real potential in this story, but it was a poor execution nonetheless. Both Kylie and Daniel have a "dark" past which results in their meeting in rehab. They are instantly attracted to each other and blah blah blah. The characters are very undeveloped, although they can only be developed so much in just 39 pages. I disliked that neither Kylie nor Daniel's pa [...]

    4. I am going to be completely honest when I say this: I really couldn’t connect with this book, I don’t know why. There is nothing at all wrong with the writing, but I felt like I had missed half of the story when I read this book, rather than what it is supposed to be, book 1. It was like starting a book half way in, and not being sure on what is going on. But at the same I would read book two to give it a chance. Kylie has given up on life, she is in rehab for alcoholism and she has a past t [...]

    5. This was an OK read but like so many of the free novellas I've downloaded, it is used as a hook to try and persuade you to buy the rest of the series. The story line was a lot different to what I expected and based on the cover alone I would not have guessed any of it was to do with rehab with hardly any romance. Like most novellas though this moves at a quick pace and is a short read that's good for breaking up time. I would have like more background, romance and for it to be longer as the prem [...]

    6. While the story was slow to get going, which I believe is due to it being broken up into different sections, I just couldn't get into it. Basically the story's main couple meet while they are in treatment for addiction. They are just starting a "friendship" when the story stops. OK - I guess I'm jaded from having worked as an addiction counselor because no romance created inside a treatment facility ever lasted and the whole "no dating each other while in treatment" might add a fun factor of som [...]

    7. I did not enjoy this book, and if it wasn't so short I probably wouldn't have finished it. I found the story, especially the dialogue, to be stilted and I wasn't able to connect with the main character, which is a big deal when it's a first person narrative. Much like Kylie kept looking at the second hand of the clock, I was looking at the number of pages left to read. I gave the book 2 stars, as opposed to lower, because I truly like the concept of the story. I just wasn't happy with the execut [...]

    8. 3.5 stars. I really don't like this new trend of serial novels but this first part was pretty decent. Kylie and Daniel are in rehab together, which makes their relationship sort of complicated. There isn't much I can say plot wise that wouldn't be a huge spoiler since the book is super short, but being so short I thought the author did a good job of building the characters up, I want to know their stories and what makes them damaged. The forbidden love aspect is also a good one, and the build up [...]

    9. I'm really interested in what Kylie did and want to see get and Daniel together, but really irritated i need to pay to get the next part of the book, and did i hear there are the parts? I would've been happier paying for them all at once, or at least finding out her background story and why she can never be happy, then decide if i want to follow her and Daniel's romance, then make that part two. I might read part two, I'd like to, it was a quick read, but now i have to wait till i can buy it

    10. I love the idea of this book but I had two problems. One of them was we never really got a feel for the characters personalities just sort of blah. The other problem was the dialog between the two main characters it was so "proper" most of the time, even when they became "good friends". He's a hockey player for pete's sake, why so serious and stiff???

    11. good attempt at a romance, but it fell VERY short. it was too light to be a romance, by has potential. THE character we're very bland, the had the ability to be more but aren't. was also freaking short, which is why I'm not inclined to buy/ pay for the second book. this one just didn't intrigue me enough to continue on with the seriesrry.

    12. This was an intriguing start to a story. I am definitely interested to see where it goes. I am a sucker for romances involving athletescially hockey players! Definitely going to keep my eyes open for others in this. It was a very short, quick read and because of its length I was left wanting to know what happens nextess I will have to wait and see.

    13. I liked it!this book is only 39 pagesI need more! That is my only issue. I like the story. It's a bit sad but it goes with the territory. My issue: where it ended. It was too much of an open ending.

    14. Reminds me of Sandra bullocks movie '28 days' except Instead of baseball sex addict you have hockey pain meds addict

    15. I liked the idea. But the narrative was so stilted. I know this is only part one but I didn't find anything redeeming or interesting enough about Kylie to want to read more.

    16. it was just starting to get interesting when it ended. I wish that more info was given on Kylie's background.
