    1. Kids will love the book. Make it clear you're not endorsing the behavior. It will make them laugh - because really a lot of us can identify with our scientific and sensual fascination of glue (of all kinds), glue guns, goggly eyes, and tape. The big comic pictures are colorful and funny. OK for preK-kinder. My opinion.Yep. Many to most kids love glue. Many like to make pools of it, play with it, get it all over the furniture, and themselves. It costs extra money to do this, and extra time (lots) [...]

    2. A delightful tale about a little boy who can't follow the art teacher's rules and uses too much glue. A great take on encouraging creativity and messy art projects.Recommended

    3. Check out that cover! Check out that face! That face is emanating pure heaven. That face belongs to Matty and glue makes him euphoric! At home, he and his dad make glue glasses, glue mustaches and even glue castles, while mom mans the glue gun. Now today at school his teacher is inviting the kids to design their own gluey creation and boy does Matty know how to do that. He's an expert. Easy peasy! Where's that glue - I am ready? That's another great thing about the book, it is told in the first [...]

    4. Matty has a thing about glue, and despite his teacher's admonitions, he creates a stick mess. But like a fly stuck in a spider's web, he cannot get out of the glue lake he creates and sinks into. Nothing seems to work since there is too much glue to dry until he and his classmates find a solution. While being somewhat amused by Matty's pranks, I felt sorry for his poor teacher as she panics, hyperventilates, and can't figure out what to do. Readers will love the last page in which the family fol [...]

    5. Those of us that grew up when paste was still around followed by the orange tipped glue in the classroom would probably get a kick-out of this. Seems like now days classrooms are filled with boring glue sticks. Admit it, did you use to spread glue on your hand and let it dry to see how big of a piece you could peel off? This book would likely cause some parents to hyperventilate at the thought of what goes on with a big ooey gooey pile of glue. They can join the teacher in the book that has to s [...]

    6. If you ask Matty, he'll tell you that you can never have enough glue. You can make anything with glue, even glasses! So while in art class, Matty decides more glue is exactly what he needs. After covering his entire work area in glue he realizes something is missing HIM. His teacher and classmates spend the entire school day trying to un-glue Matty, and they try every idea they can think of. In the end Matty becomes a walking piece of art that, thankfully, crumbles off him on his way home from s [...]

    7. This is a cute little picture book, but while the story is adorable, the art is the star. Right from the front cover you can't help but find the main star adorable. He's open-jawed with wonder and fun with being a sticky glued-up mess. As the story goes he just keeps getting happier, while the teacher shows that she really shouldn't be teaching afterall. Overall a fun book, but not one I'm going to run out and add to my personal collection.

    8. The illustrations in this book are great, and at first it seems like a cute story. But I'd never choose it for a kid. For one thing, there's the image it paints of Matty's art teacher as totally incompetent, who hyperventilates while the kids in the classroom essentially run wild. Mom also doesn't know what to do, so it's Dad who saves the day. I just think some of those impressions may not be good ones to encourage.

    9. I feel like this story was built around the "zinger" on the last line. I was excited to read a story that truly addresses the child's need to USE SO MUCH GLUE. And while it was amusing, this title did not fill that void. The illustrations were rendered using Photoshop which I found to be rather impressive.

    10. Silly, cute, and fun.A silly, sweet and fun story about a boy whose creative streak is strong, his parents who encourage him, the teacher who doesn't quite understand, and his classmates who help him. The illustrations are delightful and provide much of the story.

    11. Lefebvre, Jason Too Much Glue, illustrated by Zac Retz. PICTURE BOOK. Flashlight Press, 2013. $17. 9781936261277Matty is part of a very adventurous family, so when the art teacher tells him to be careful with the glue, he can’t help but use all the glue he can get his hands on. And for the final decoration he adds – himself! Now however, the glue is not dry and its almost time to go home. His friends try all kind of creative solutions to free him, but nothing seems to work. What will Matty [...]

    12. I'm guilty of using glue dots or glue sticks instead of glue bottles or saying "dot, dot, not a lot" when doing projects that require glue with little ones. As a result, I was intrigued by this book. This was a silly book about a boy who loves to use a lot of glue, which leads to some funny results. I loved the teacher's expressions throughout the book as the other children try to remedy the situation to no avail. The nurse's response also made me laugh. At the end, I liked the different items t [...]

    13. A mad romp through a schoolday where Matty ignores his teacher's warning not to use "too much glue!" He ends up glued to the top of a desk, his teacher hyperventilating and breathing into a paper bag. In spite of his classmates heroic attempts at rescue, a visit from the school nurse and principal, he ends up being peeled up and taken home coated in glue. Luckily, Mom and Dad love to play with glue too, and the snip him right out of his glue suit and hang it up on the fridge. Not very reverent n [...]

    14. I really enjoyed reading this book to my son. If this had been around when I was a kid, I would have loved it more!I just really liked how the author promotes a healthy and very loving relationship between child and parents, how even when he's doing something messy, they encourage him to have fun. They encourage his creativity, which I feel like a lot of parents would stifle in today's age because their took busy with their phones and whatever else. They have just as much as Matty does while he' [...]

    15. Matty's art teacher says that if you use too much glue, it will never dry, so he decides to test that theory. My almost-kindergartener loves this super fun creative problem-solving story.

    16. This book was incredibly funny and the kindergartens that read it loved it. This book teaches a lesson about not using too much glue during projects but it is silly and fun!

    17. Too much funOlwen, age 8, says it was really funny. Some of the print was very small on the tablet, though, and Grammy had to read it for me. The principal's message was funny.

    18. I want to be the parent that peels the glue off the child and hangs it on the refrigerator. But I'm not that parent. haha.

    19. Cute picture book about a preschooler who is obsessed with glue!! Beautiful illustrations!! Great book to use during writers' workshop to showcase the trait, IDEAS!!

    20. Too Much GlueToo Much Glue by Jason Lefebvre and Zac Retz is about a little boy named Matty that love glue. Matty and his mom and dad make things out of glue all the time. One day in class Matty squeezes glue all of the table and jumps into it and rolls around to it covers his whole body. After Matty’s teacher freaks out about him making a mess, he tries to get up and realized that he is stuck. The school tried everything to get Matty unstuck from the table. The School nurse comes in and puts [...]

    21. Matty loves to use too much glue both at school and at home. His teacher warns him that too much glue never dries. One day he gets quite carried away with his use of glue making a puddly mess which he promptly throws himself into. The problem is, he becomes stuck. His classmates try everything they can think of to get him loose. Finally, the glue dries enabling dad to take him home in his "glue suit" which later becomes a prominent piece of artwork on the fridge. This story is an extreme example [...]

    22. "To Much Glue" is a great book that will keep young students laughing at every page. It starts out as the art teacher explaining how to do a project. "Don't use too much glue" , the teacher said. "It won't ever stick."Of course, there was one kid who did not listen. He grabbed the glue and tore off the lid and drowned his paper a glue but instead of the art supplies sticking to the glue - he got stuck to the glue! He could not get up because the glue did actually dry. The teacher started to pani [...]

    23. Too much glue doesn't dry?Challenge----accepted!This book is great and I can't wait to make glue men (like gingerbread men, but with glue) as a combination art/science project in my classroom. Will it dry? How long will it take? Did the above "gingerbread men" experiment in my classroom last September. It was an overwhelming success. First, the kids loved filling in the figure that I had drawn on waxed paper with glue. They were informed up front, that this was a once in the classroom item. Seco [...]

    24. A fun book about a creative kid who likes to use glue. This is accepted and even encouraged at home. But when things get out of hand at school, the kids in his classroom work together to try to problem solve. Dad -- who is also a creative type -- eventually saves the day and ultimately, no one gets into trouble. I liked that the story features a kid doing something messy and out of the norm and in the end everything turned out okay. Chaos can be good. Everything can turn out all right. It's just [...]

    25. "Too Much Glue" is a book about a little boy named Matty who used too much glue in his art class in the form of pouring the glue out and jumping into it. He becomes stuck and devises a plan. This book would be great to use as a funny introduction to an arts and crafts activity. Also, during the rules explanations of art classes the teacher could use this as a "what not to do" example. The visuals in this book are great for kids due to their great use of color and their awesome details. My person [...]

    26. [insert squeal here] Eeeeeee I LOVE this book! This book is witty and wonderful. It is fun and funny and boy does it ever tickle the imagination. I think any adult who has spent any time at all with young children is going to love this book by a preschool paraprofessional and chilren's librarian Jason Lefebvre. This man knows kids. And, he knows that there is always that one kid. You know the one I meanAside from the terrific story and first rate illustrations, I am in love with this book's endi [...]

    27. 4.5/5 - Very creative story about a little boy who likes to use lots of glue and whose parents encourage him to have fun and be inventive. When he gets himself into a bind by gluing himself to his school desk, things go from bad to worse (that's when the book really becomes a delight). Then, his father shows up and saves the day. The book starts slowly and I thought, "I'm not going to love this one," but I turned out to be wrong. The further you get into Too Much Glue, the better it becomes. Kid [...]
