    1. This is the second book in theMeg and Mog series byHelen Nicoll and illustrated by Jan Pienkowski. As a follow-up book it closely follows the formula that was so successful inMeg and Mog. I feel that it followed the formula too closely - The plot of Meg's Eggs is much the same as the originalMeg and Mog. ****Warning Meg and Mog Spoiler Alert*** The key thing that made Meg and Mog stand out from the crowd of children's books was the indifference Meg showed towards the plight of her friends. In th [...]

    2. I found this one on the shelves of a second hand shop whilst browsing recently actually, the lady working there handed it to me with a recommendation.I didn't grow up with Meg's Eggs or if I did I have no recollection of it, so I wasn't all that impressed by the paperback, black, red and yellow item she was handing me but for less than one dollar, who was I to say no thanks.I read it to my daughter a few nights back, being completely unawares of what the story was even about other than Meg's egg [...]

    3. Meg and Mog has been one of my favourite books ever since I was a little girl. There's something about Jan Pieńkowski's vivid illustrations that just makes me smile. Our children also love the adventures of witch Mog, her stripy cat Mog, and Owl. If you want to take a learning angle, these stories are great for thinking about magic, recipes (ingredients for spells) and rhymes. But I love them just because they are so much fun. I won't write long individual reviews for the books in this series, [...]

    4. This book brings back awesome memories of when I was in Year 1 sitting in the reading corner and being captivated by the simple lines and bold backgrounds of this book. There is lovely use of onomatopoeia such as (PLONK, PLINK, PLUNK, PECK PECK, TAP TAP) as well as speech bubbles to help children understand what speech looks like and what speech is. A very animated book with simple yet effective wording to convey a brilliant book. A great read!

    5. I really like the colours of this series of books but well, the stories oddly leave me cold. This one is the dinosaur book.
