    1. A Christmas present from my husband, and I just devoured it over a couple of days. Strange thing is, I can remember some of the original strips when they came outI'm just a big fan of Posy, and think she hits the nail on the head almost every time! It is quite odd that much of the content could apply to these horrible times that we are going through at present - recession, youth unemployment, middle class angst - plus ca changed the fact that it covers the 70s and 80s is a big plus for me, being [...]

    2. This is a collection of Simmonds’s comics for the Guardian. As with the Garfield cartoons, you get to see the development of her style and the characters, as well as the march of fashion over the period 1977–1993. Very clever skewering of middle class liberal values and political correctness gone mad: the characters (especially polytechnic sociology lecturer George, in the Department of Liberal Studies, and children’s book author Wendy Weber) espouse these values, but their actions don’t [...]

    3. It took me a whole year to work my way through this, between other books; there's only so much satire you can take in one go. The thing that struck me the most was how little society has changed. Even though Posy was poking fun at the Thatcher years, all the same characters and traits are still here today. I also recognise myself , rather uncomfortably, in some of it! I grew up on Posy in the Grauniad, and it was a delight to read her again.

    4. An immense collection of Posy's work, and a great insight into middle class lifestyles and attitudes of the past 40 years.
