    1. I didn't finish the book, specifically the chapters on the tropical/wintering grounds of migratory birds, but was very impressed with the tone of the book. It was very clear for lay readers, and the author's ability to convey the complexity of bird ecology, as it relates to declining numbers of certain migratory birds, was laudable. It is a fascinating puzzle, but also alarming; slowly, quietly, we are losing birds.
