You really CAN'T judge a book by its cover. I was drawn in by the clever cover and the reviews I read on . I should have checked this account first. The writing is atrocious and the book is littered with typos, incorrect grammar and punctuation, and the writer ping-pongs between scenes. It feels like I'm reading the work of a high school student. She tries to incorporate large vocabulary words that only further take away from her credibility as a good writer. Big words do not a good writer make. [...]

This hilarious saitre of upper-American society moves from Wisteria Lane to practically any country club in the land where keeping-up-with-the Joneses is the sole reason for being. Quite a fun and entertaining read. I laughed through many of the pages, with the descriptions and witty one-liners twined throughout this. Tish is an interesting character, who manages to be lovable with her personal struggles and challenges as her entire life is overturned when her long-time husband divorces her. AMUSING AND THOUGHT-PROVOKINGThis is an amusing story of social distinctions and hypocrisy among a monied section of US society. Wryly observed, often bitchy and always humorous, it is very much a page turner. As a Brit, I found it an eye opener - US society may be "classless", but Gurvis describes a well-defined pecking order among the country club set. Highly readable.

I couldn't put this book down! It was a guilty pleasure to say the least. It reminded me of desperate housewives but even better! Great writing, excellent characters- the kind you love to hate, and of course my favorite, major sarcasm!

Just fun because I know all about "New Wellington".

This story of love and loss, life and family, money and desperation will, even though it’s fiction, display many life lessons. Loved it!
